He got 6M£. They tried to fob him off with 3M£, in Rafas contract it was 16M£. Gutted he didn't get every penny, rather in his pocket tbh.
Relegation? Lad we will probably regain 4th that is not the point.
Frank Rijjkard, Klinnsmann and Maradonna. Fantasy footballers.... Rijjkard perhaps not even that - but managers, NEVER.
We should have stuck with Rafa at the end of the day, but he has gone now, the problem is the next manager will be a yes man for the current owners, a short term solution to a bigger issue. Who will the yes man be though? That is the question now.

Poor Rafa, had to be paid 3 million to leave.
I bet he said no for ages, until they threatened his family and put a gun to his head, he finally signed the termination contract...
Yeah right!
They said, how much you want? 10 million, no...5 million, no...4 mill final offer no. 3 mill or nothing...Rafa then shouted DEAL!
Was seen hopping skipping jumping to his car with a 3 million check (one of those big checks like 4 foot wide lol).
Why have no Liverpuddlians mentioned Frank Rijkard?
I think liverpool (without a transfer budget) is only a bad thing for a manager. Not even the special one would be able to make that side perform. And any manager it can attract are 1. not good enough 2. there for the wrong reasons.
could be relegation for them this year!

Also, that 6million£ wasted on sacking rafa could have gone to buying a decent striker last season, funny how they seem to have the money ready to pay Rafa off.
I bet its 2M£ 1 year, 2M£ the next and the final installment is reliant on Rafa winning the league with Inter.
That is what our last 10 signings have looked like. We even payed in installments for Kgyriakos who cost 2M£!
That is why rafa should still be at Liverpool, because the club is seriously not in a position to atract the best managers and or players, far far from it. We are scraping the barell, and what was probably one bad season in Rafas 6, will probably be indicative of our seasons for the next 6 years. It was a stupid move from 2 people who know nothing about football. They wanted Jurgen Klinnsmann as manager FFS!
But there we have it, these days 1 poor season (due to no investment in the team at all, in fact like the last two years, gaining more money than spending. This is a time where City have spent mega millions, Villa have had serious investment, and likewise Spurs. That is enough to get you sacked, Shankly, Paisley, Dalglish, all had a poor season somewhere in their reign, yet are considered in the top bracket. Fergie went 7 years without winning the league, was he sacked?
Anyway, at least Heskey has done something useful in injuring Rio that cheered me up. Now, just break Gerrards legs, so he will be going nowhere in the summer. Better stay now Stevie that you've got your way!

Frank Rijkaard!
He is a good manager. He's won the treble with Barcelona he reached the semi finals of the Euro with holland he won 5 trohpies in 2 years including a champions league.
He's recieved manager of the year & as an individual he has won loads of prestigious rewards lol.
Cant knock the bloke, hes had a good life lol, but like i mentioned, can you seriously attract a good manager?
Expectation is always really big, & i dont think liverpool have a good enough side with no injuries & everyone on form.
So i think good managers with a good reputation wont risk it tbh.
Plus what kind of budget can you afford?
Well after Gerrard and Torres leaves, you should have at least 30M, but how much will the owners want if they do sell them?
Also
With Rio out, Gerrard is Englands captain. I dont have anything against the chap, he likes to ruck outside nightclubs and smash people on the head but...he isnt that good of a captain...He isnt the man to lead us to victory.
Dare I say it...has to be John Terry. Should be him anyway, & if the players/manager was professional then JT would still be capo now!
With no Rio now and no "england captain" what a moral booster just before we start. If england do crap now, then i will be leading the pack and saying its Capello/Bridges/Barrys fault for JT losing the capo band & they cost us a chance of glory.

England wouldnt win with or without JT as captain. Captain isnt as big a deal as it is made out to be. what do they do, wear an armband and take the coin toss. maybe give a big speech at the start of the game or some rubbish
after that, they are just a player.

Torres could be sold for £80 million easy. Gerrards 30, so would probably get £30million tops, but they're not going anywhere!

I've got more chance of being top scorer than David Ngog.

Urgh.
Gerrard's "team talk pre-match" im sure that would be...uplifting. And i cant see England walking up on the stage...and Gerrard lifting the cup up and i seriously doubt 99% of the world can see that either.
It was cagey with Rio, but at least he's solid and a captain that is use to winning. Just like Terry, he is use to winning. What has Gerrard got? Dont get me wrong i rate him as a footballer, he just is nowhere near the caliber of JT as captain. And if england were to win...i can only see JT leading the lads up the stairs to the trophy.
I think this has near enough ruined Englands chances of winning. If your captain isnt a winner...then you dont win.
On the other hand, if england pull this off...i will stake my life on Gerrard leaving...captained his country to the world cup? He will be hot property.
Wont get 80 mill for the 2 of them combined.

I say this every time this comes up.
The England captaincy issue is pethetic, truly, completely immaterial, Heskey could be captain it matters that little.
Almost every country goes by whoever has most caps is captain, just we in England make a big issue out of it, but in all honesty it is about as important as an A-level in media studies - not very.
However if we are talking of "captain material" then JT would actually be below Heskey. Has it crossed your mind Derry that secretly the rest of the England squad hate him?
But yeah, the whole winning mentallity bullshine is a huge Gael Cliche and am just not buying it - sorry.
