He went down easily, I say this all the time, if you watch a game of Rugby, you will see just how easy it is to stay on your feet if you are inclined to do so, he felt the tug, he went down, fair do's, wasn't a dive or anything like that. I believe when it is an englishmen, the phrase "using his experience" is banded about.

However, Frank should have took a leaf out of Stevie Laaas book and strived to stay on his feet and score.

We have to remember, this is no sunday league game. This is for 80 million pound and the most prestigious British title. It was a penalty thats a given, but if frank just stops and puts his arms in the air....will the ref give it? Probally not. So why shouldnt Frank go to ground, it wasnt a dive a slight exaggeration maybe but not a div, he didnt roll on the floor or do a bakcflip....just fell forward and was up straight away.

Plus he didnt care if Caldwell was sent off, he just wanted the penalty.

Well this may sound silly considering it was 8-0, if the first goal was not given for offside on Malouda (which it should have been) and Caldwell was not sent off, it would have been 1-0 at HT with 11 V 11, not 2-0 with 11V10 could have been a different game.

I think it's just a custom because there's a German team in the final, very few want the Germany to win the Champions League so there's not much to be said from the English on the matter except come on Italy.
