You still have to win the lag. Plus it is only 1point. You dont get 5 easy points.

It's a break that everyone knows get over it.

To be honest. i sometimes prefer losing the lag. i don't mind if my opponent only gets the first break of shot because i'll always have a chance to win from losing the lag.

thats the best point thats been made so far, if your good then losing a point from the break isnt going to matter, if you are bad then your not going to win anyway so its all the one

I think everyone's forgetting that the Lag is apart of the game aswell. To be a good carom player you must be able to lag well. If you can lag well, then you shouldnt have to worry about how your opponent breaks.

also this isnt a 'new' carom break off. Its been around for a while now. Its just that some how to my amazment, just about everbody now knows how to do it. Not long ago only a few knew how to do it.

Sorry, another thing, Removing the dots around the table will not help. The shot will still be possible. So this thread is pretty much a waste of time.

its all good, the only way to solve this is remove carom altogether cos the shot can be played it dosnt break the rules so thats it, done dusted

if you win the lag you try to get a point! it doesnt matter if people dont know that break, take me for a example i dont even know the break but ive got my own little break going on!!! its like you saying "oh you cant pot that ball because its unfair to the other person!!

the game of snooker is about angles. if you cant get the angles correct you will never pot a ball.

now i know your going to say this thread is about carom and so on but that point has to be made first.

carom is predominatly about angles, so the break off shot which has caused so much controversy on this thread is about people having discovered the correct place to aim to get the correct angle to get a point.

the only way to change this is to change the beginning position of the balls, in effect change the angles one must use to win a point on the break.

however people will learn the new angle and position to play a break of shot to gain a point again.

the game is about angles and everybody has learned the angle for the break, its not cheating its practise.

if i didnt learn my own angles i would never be any good at this game.
every player that is better than me has mastered the angles better than i have.
