So if there not online what difference will a private thread make?
When they come online... they wil see it just like te usual forums.

But then everyone will have to be online... and having 13 members online at one point doesnt happen so could not create a private room and invite them all. However, a clan chat would be easier as they could go in when they are online and write in. That way we could discuss our tactics.

This is an excellent idea, though rather than having a "password" based system, only allowing a defined list of clan members would be a better solution IMO, so that only those currently in a clan could view the thread.
It would simplify moderation immensely as it should help avoid petty remarks descending into silly arguments.
A little work involved, sure, but thats never stopped a good idea in the past.

this would double the amount of threads currently in existence as now clan v clan games couldnt be organised through the private threads and nobody would know who was in what clan since they couldnt enter

So what you're saying is, instead of having just the members of the clan in question able to view the thread, have all members of a clan be able to view all the threads? If a new member wants to join, they would have to apply in some way, correct?
Looking at it that way, I can see why it could be thought of as a good idea, however I still don't see a need for it.

Posts like this frustrate me completely, if you are going to ask for feedback, then expect people to give some negative feedback to the idea. Otherwise your just asking us to lie to you, which is of no help to the thread. Instead why don't you take what people are saying and adapt your idea so it is more viable. At your age you should be able to handle constructive criticism of your idea without feeling sorry for yourself.
Yh i understand i was annoyed this day. Sorry.
To be honest actually with all these points being made it really is 50/50.
Like deco said how would other people be able to see in the clan to see the team? (but then do they have to?) If a match wants to be started, this can easily be done by message. Doesnt have to be in the clan thread.
And thats another bonus, it would stop argueing and petty comments so easier for the mods.

I was assuming a private thread for each clan only viewable by those in the clan and, obviously, moderators.
This would let clans discuss tactics etc, leading to a more competitive and fun environment, and avoid petty squabbles caused by interjections from non-clan members.
Joining clans etc can be done (as it was in ye olde days, lol) via general clan chat threads like "Looking for a clan" and "clans needing members" and cross clan banter can continue in any number of threads without the "this is our thread" problem ever happening again.

I like the idea but, i would be against any mods being locked from threads. The mods understand that the clan chat would not be discussed with other members. Locking mods would only make our job more difficult.

there are mods who are in a clan and for them they won't get access (they can mod there clan), but mods and admins who are not in a clan can have full access to mod.

it has been said already but what exactly are the tactics involved in clan v clan games?
what is up for discussion? how to pot balls and make breaks and win games?
the general basis for the game as a whole

i agree with what you say BGYUK but what jackbauer is saying is that it would be counter productive for mods who are in opposition clans to moderate on other clan tactic threads.
the solution to this would be for the forum mods of the clan section to be mods who are not part of clans.

Yes but look at the person who did post it deco, it was you. Therefore your the immature one. So what if Steve is proud of his clan and would like to keep it clean between goodfellas and you didnt have any need to go on their and post just to wind someone up
