i dont really like playing in games with a low time limit, and so i dont really join games with anything lower than 30s on original. but...i think if there was a 'time bank' introduced then it would make games more friendly to players like me.

what you'd do when creating a game would select the time limit for each shot as usual, but on top of that you could set a time bank of 50s or so.

this 50s would be used when the time limit runs out for those especially tricky pressure shots when you dont want to be rushed

20 secs is plenty

So you're basically asking for the time limit to be 70 seconds?! huh?

no, okay im gonna try and explain clearly cos when i wrote that one i was a bit drunk...

when you create the game you can make a time bank of whatever you want, for example 30 seconds. This would be along with the general time limit for most shots of say 20 seconds.

during the match youd still have the 20s time limit for most shots but each player will have 30 seconds extra to use up during the match

this 30s would be used if for the odd extra difficuilt pressure shot, more than the standard 20s was needed. So for example if someone spent 30 seconds on a shot then they would then have 20 seconds left in the 'time bank'.

ok ok i kind off see your point however i'm finding a little difficult to understand. Maybe a little adjustment... You could have a time bank like you said ..HOWEVER!. you can only use it once a game and only on one shot..if you are able to use it in multiple shots (which i think u were saying?) then it gives the opponent displeasure of waiting all the time. Maybe give me a little more info on how you plan this would work?

i think it would be used on games of about 15s to 20s limits and im saying that the 30s is not renewable throughout the whole game.

so the most they can wait is 20+30 seconds on one shot, and then the whole extra time would be used up and they'd have the standard 20s for every shot from then on.

Yeah sounds good, as long as it can only be used once. I often want to get a drink or go to the toilet etc and find myself running around the house and getting random shots lol. Would be good especially for tournaments. Maybe it would overcomplicate things though. I personally think its a nice idea though.

Sounds good to me. Wouldnt be easier to have a time button in the game and by pressing it you 'opt' to use the extra time rather than it automatically taking it when your time is up?

wow man i think that idea is great! A lil time bank so if u run a second over on a shot it deducts a sec from the bank, sweet! nothin worse than when u've taken a little time on a tricky shot, like a long double and then pull the cue back and the automatic shot thingy comes into play lol

Or even better still: if you've started to take your shot before the 20s, you'd get an extra second or so to complete the shot and not be penalised by a random shot penalty when you were about to shoot.

I think this is a great idea! best ive heard in a long time. For those of you who dont understand I think he means:

You join a game with 20secs time limit. You have a tricky shot so you click a *time bank* button. That then stops your 20 seconds and starts a new time of 50 seconds. You can use this however much in the game, for example you do it on 5 shots, taking an extra 10 seconds each. That would mean you have no more time in your time bank left.

ah finally a good explanation, although why not just choose a game with 40 seconds time limit instead?

yea i reckon its a good idea but yea could just go into a game with a longer time limit

especially in snooker, there arent that many games available.... this feature isnt badly needed but i reckon it would be a very nice addition.

Its a simple enough idea, but as Crusade says, why not simply play a longer game instead.

I always play 10 second games, and the last thing i want is people dilly-dallying around for another 30 seconds!

It has an advantage that can't really be argued.
In my opinion the problem is, if all these kind of small advantages were implemented the game screen would start to look like the cockpit of a boeing 747! That would obvioiusly be drastic for new players.

which is why it should be on premium.... which is officially 45 days overdue (it says 2006 on the page)
