i dont like the sound of this
your basicaly being disrespect full
for giving up before hes even finished, you should wait till its your go before you do it
its abit like saying gg wp halfway through, or basicaly leaving the table in my eyes

i agree also it could cause people giving up before they have even lost or when there is still a chance for a 50

this would only be able to be done once they have already mathematically lost the frame.
ie 50 behind with only 40 left on the table.
not halfway as both jamie and alex are suggesting when there is 50 left on the table and your 30 behind.

EDIT:
To add something relevant....
I don't like this idea.
There is a flag at the end if you choose to concede.
You might concede early and then when it gets to then end the balls might be perfect for snookers, and you could have won, and then what?

if you're (see james) way behind surely your not going to be good enough to get that amount of snookers even if the balls were perfectly placed for 1 snooker. otherwise you wouldnt have lost by that much in the first place. and since there is no 'foul and miss' rule, you're going to need to play several good snookers.
the main reason i want this is for when im playing a bad player in a friendly, im 60 points ahead, 35 remaining in awkward positions and its their turn and they make no attempt to play snookers just keep trying to pot shots that are way beyond them. so they miss and i pot a ball or two then see the flag, i know i can miss and dont waste 3-4 mins playing shots that i dont need to because i know the game is over. i dont have to guess whether they will concede or not if i do miss.
or if i dont see the flag from them, i know they are one of them idiots that stays potting even though the game is well over so i try and ensure i dont miss unneccessarily.

ps, i know most of these suggestions rarely get implemented anyway so im gonna stop arguing needlessly

Give up early flag?
1. Would be silly members giving up early over and over, and over...
2. Gives le-way for game cheating
3. Only really give up when they are on a break, which they want to finish
4. Just leave the game?

5. Conceding
(a) A player may only concede when he is the striker. The opponent has the right to accept or refuse the concession, which becomes null and void if the opponent chooses to play on
(b) When aggregate scores apply and a frame is conceded, the value of any balls remaining on the table is added to the score of the other side. In such case, Reds shall count as eight points each and any colour incorrectly
(c) If a player concedes a frame in any match when snookers are not required, the referee has the discretion to decide if such concession shall be regarded as ungentlemanly conduct or misconduct by the player concerned.

If you could flag early you are telling your opponent that you have already conceded the frame. He now knows and has the choice whether to continue (if on a break for example) or start a new frame.
Maybe this option should only come up if the player needs snookers, so the player at the table knows and can decide what they want to do.

How many snookers would be needed then? Good players are quite capable of getting 2, 3 or more snookers depending on the layout of the remaining balls. If you are 60+ down, but still have 3 reds, 3 snookers is not that big an issue.
There has to be a certain degree of trust in the game. We have all played bad sports, but surely if your opponent says "I'll flag", this should be sufficient for you to decide whether or not to carry on your break, or miss for him/her to flag.
Should your opponent then revoke and continue playing, simply make a point of not playing that person again.

Whilst I can see the point of the idea, introducing the conceed flag early, or using a similar option, may lead to less experienced players giving up early because they think they cant win, and experienced real life players wondering whats going on!
At the end of the day, if you need or want to leave, and your opponent is on a big break, alll you have to do is say something like "Well played, good luck with your break, i have to go now", and leave the game.
So long as you do it politely and sportingly, nobody will mind.
