Ye Carom rules, if you don't like Carom, learn it, I don't think it will be taken out simply because its only a handful of people (the ones who don't like carom or don't want to learn it) want this to be taken out.. so don't enter this new tourney if you don't like Carom

I think carom needs to be there to have the maximum effect for variety.
Regarding schedule we'll slot a daily one in starting tonight. Last night we tried 10 second per shot, 15 minute per game and this seems a decent point to start at.

when will the tournament take place ? ive seen that it is weekly but what time in the day and what day ?
IMO - it should be playing at around 7 pm because that is when most users are on

Unfortunately that can't be done easily. Each match in each round will have a different game. You can click onto a player name while the match is in progress and see what type of game they are in. Multi-discipline tournaments don't fit into the standard tournament schedules and I don't want to add too much specific code for just this.

looking good nick, i can see this becoming very popular and quickly, ill have to enter it tonight
also will there be like random ranked games, or will it stay as it is.

It will promote carom for sure, and, i'm soooo glad about this !!!
Carom, is a very clever game guys, it will improve your snooker shots, especially the positional shots, and your spin !
It's a gr8 overall idea, as everybody will play any type, no exceptions...! Just class, well done Nick, for once more !

i played in the trial last night, and i think it worked really well .
My thoughts on the Carom debate, as several of you are painfully aware, my semi-final was a carom game against someone else who, like me, isn't exactly a pro at Carom. So this is first-hand experience . I think it's great that Carom is being included in this as it's not a widely played game, however in the situation like mine, with two definite newbies, the time limit isn't very long. We got the 5 minute remaining warning at 1-1 i think. Fortunately we managed to finish but i can see a lot of DQ-DQ results coming up with 2 newbies playing Carom against each other. This wouldn't be great in, for example, a semi-final as the final is then won by default.
I can't think of a solution for this though!

it could be sped up by implementing a rule for giving newbies points for hitting the cushions lots of times .
