Pretty sure those people learnt to play it, what's stopping you?
cause its boring!
To be fair guys, a random tourney is going to be won by those who have a fair amount of experience in each game type, and this can done by many people on here as a lot of people do tend to have some experience within all game types, particularly arcade and regular. But why should carom be taken out as one or two individuals do not like the idea? Truth is, it shouldn't, because at the end of the day, it just takes a little bit of practise.
Here, i know people would say "easily said than done", but in reality...its actually equal, because how many of you came on this site for the first time making century breaks straight away? Most likely none of you, so experience and technique comes from a bit of practise, by yourself, or by playing others and watching the way they play. This goes towards all game types.
The random multi-discipline tourney should remain as it is, and it shouldn't change. Excellence comes from experience, and experience comes from practise, just remember that

it doesnt take a genius to read the rules over and try and learn it. when carom came out it took me a week to learn how to play so its not impossible.

I come on this site because I like snooker.
Carom isn't snooker.
That's why I don't play it.
I've tried it plenty and I just don't like it.
It's not because I don't understand it or can't be bothered to get good at it or don't fancy practicing it.
I just don't like carom.
Whether it should be in this tournament though, I'm not sure.
It is a "Random" tournament so I suppose having carom in it makes it more random.
It's bound to get more people playing carom and maybe wanting to get good at it just to be able to win this tournament so they can be one of the few with a "Random" section on their profile.
You need to understand spin to be able to play carom so it's bound to get you to understand spin more.
But for people like me who just like snooker, this tournament is a bit annoying.
Because it's got carom in it I doubt I'll be entering it.
That's why I don't enter carom tournaments.
Yeah I suppose it's fine as it is though, with carom in it.
It's a tournament for people who like all the game types on this site.
For everyone who prefers specific game types, like me, there are the rest of the tournaments for them to enter.
P.S.
Sorry this post is a bit long!

A lot of those might have only entered for the novelty of it being a brand new tournament so it doesn't really prove anything.
Which is why I joined in on the "Random Trials" on the first night of this tournament (I was lucky enough to get regular in all my rounds).
But I didn't join the one last night because I don't fancy playing carom (or original really).

between 25-30% of the people on the site entered the tournament. thats about normal for the amount of people to enter most arcade tournaments (arcade being the most popular and easiest, that figure decreases for the regular, original and carom tournaments)

True, and no offence, whats to say you dont get lucky and dont have to play carom?

You can't expect everyone to like every game (like i can't stand arcade, as it's too easy to pot on, offers no challenge).
I would also like to make a big point. If you didn't have a clue how to play snooker or carom (didn't know any rules), i can guarantee that carom would be a lot easier to learn. Just because some people can't be bothered to learn how to play, or find it "too hard" is a pathetic excuse. Might aswell take original out then if carom was to be removed, as the majority of the players on here don't play it because it's too hard.........

It's called random "discipline" because it's got carom in it, not the other way round.
