Golden cue table

18 frames isn't enough. Simple as that really. 3 games isn't a lot required to go into it.

Pool for example is 75 frames (which equates to 5 games)

Possibly same for snooker (So 30 frames)

Clan league schedule

Considering we don't have too many clans, I think playing each other twice in a season would make it a bit better.

A season doesn't last too long as it is, and would be interesting to see how it works anyway.

Could stick a transfer window in half way though season too, and make the cup a bit longer?

Just a couple of ideas thrown out there. Was meant to post other day but just simply forgot.

Let's do Golden Cue first:

18 frames was chosen a while ago, because it amounted to over half the league season (cup games weren't included at the time).
For this season, the minimum number of fixtures a clan could have was 7 (5 league, 1 cup loss, 1 plate loss). That totals 40 frames.

I think 30 frames would be a bit much, because if clans rotate fixtures among players, then several might not get the chance to make it onto the table.
How about 23? That's 3 league games and a cup game. Or 25 maybe. It really depends on how many clan there will be next season. But we'll make sure that it's roughly 60% of the minimum possible frames.

As a side note: League power fixtures count as 3 frames only for the Golden Cue table. Should we change this for next season into 6 points?
A player that is only in power fixtures would never get beyond 15 frames this season...

Clan League Season:
I'll reply to this now, because I'm about to go to sleep

We've aimed to make the season last roughly 3 months the last few times. This season's schedule would've looked different if we had known that Hustlers would fold. We may have gone for a double round robin like you suggested.
With 7 clans (what we thought we would have this season), we can't do 2 fixtures against everyone, because that would stretch just a little too far I think. 6 clans is right on the edge. 5 clans we would definitely have everyone play each other twice.

So again, this depends on the number of clans entering. The last few times, we've always discussed scheduling and format in the week break after the pre-season friendlies.

To follow up: The 75 frames means you only have to play in 50% of league frames this season (10 fixtures). They add cup games as well (1 fixture minimum since they don't have a plate). So the minimum fixtures there is 165 frames.

Pool: 75 out of 165 therefore 45.4% of frames played.
Snooker: 18 out 40 is 45.0% of frames played.

So it's actually the same. Although I agree that it seemed lower at first.

I would like to see it raised personally, but I'm not aware of there being any problems with it at the moment? All the players at the top have played easily more than 18 (or will have).

Good point with the golden cue, but it does still seem that it's not a lot. Mid 20's would probably be a better idea.



It counts as 6 frames for everything else (well, for the league table) so it should be the same for the golden cue table in my opinion.

in my opinion i would make it 20 or 22 (only if its not a double round robin) if its a double round robin then could make it in the mid 30s or early 40s
