I think this is mentioned before a while ago, but I think the amount of carom 4+ runs you have made should be added to your profile and also the occurrences of your highest break.

I dont see this as being hard to put in as all other announcments are recorded on your profile. With more carom players now i think it is a good idea

Yes mate i agree with you even I don't play carom lol, but it does come up as an anouncement when you have made a 4+ run it don't seem pointless to me

without them, our achievements are just lost in the past

It's pointless having an announcement and you don't get any record on your profile for it, it's in "events" why can't it be on your profile!

The likelihood is that the historic data don't exist and therefore introduction of such a statistic on the profile page is problematical. (I can just see the complaint threads saying "I have 100+ Carom 4+ runs .... etc.)

You mean in the same way maximum old ranks were still available for donkeys years, and that they managed to update tournaments etc when profile styles changed, it is available if they want it.

Even if it was not , I dont think most of us would mind if it started from scratch

In that case the data was available. I didn't say it couldn't be done or that I'm against the idea, just that there are problems. As for what most would like, I have no idea, but I'm sure that there will be a few highly vocal dissenters (as usual).

One big problem with this idea...

You're suggesting record 4+ runs, but what about the higher runs which are way beyond that? They would have to go up in stages which comes to the problem. There is no limit to how high a run can go while there is a limit to breaks in snooker, so there could be a ridiculous amount of "stages" on your profile for the runs. Example...

4+ runs - 10
8+ runs - 5
12+ runs - 2
16+ runs - 2
20+ runs - 1
24+ runs - 1

Obviously no one has gone to 24 yet, but it could be a possibility, and to me, that's too many to have, and just keeing it down to a couple would still have a big problem in the fact of not showing how many massive runs you have.

That is the problem. At the moment a 10+ run is considered a very good achievement and would be suited to that at the moment. But what if standards suddenly shot up and 20 runs were the norm? Them stats then would become pointless.

If there was a limit to how high a run can get, then yes it would be any easy decision to add this in, but it's not.

Nah your wrong Damien, i just want my 4+ recorded as it is an announcment and is deserved to be recorded. Your the one creating the splits.

I think 4+, 10+ is sufficient. If 15's become regular (Cant see it) then increase accordingly.

The splits would have to be there though, as it has to go up in stages like it does on the snooker games (50's and 100's)



It wasn't that long ago where a 4 run was considered a massive achievement as the highest run ever was 7 for a while, so it can happen easily.

The problem with increasing them accordingly then would be that the 10+ stats would have to be all reset (as some of them made could have been 15+)

I cant see 20 getting topped on a regular basis, and theres isnt 10's coming in regularly either.

Ovbiously there are some who can hit 10's more frequently as others...but i see 10's as being big runs.

You need a 10/11 to get on the top 10 highest so i think 10+ is perfect.

You missed my point completely. Standards will increase as they always do. As i said before it wasn't too long ago where a 7 run was the biggest run ever, and a 10+ run was "impossible" for anyone. Now look at the tables now...

This time next year, i am fairly sure there will be a lot of double figure runs, highest ever going into 30's...

lol, things do move forward , and we adapt when they do, thats no reason not to do it or to plan for a change which may never happen
