Hmmmmmmm....yeah you'd be right.
But is there any need to talk about it here?
Or was it just a cheap shot because he had nothing better to say?

i think the spin should get more realistic. for example you cannot screw back off a cushion with reverse side. u could have as well spin settings for begginners intermedietes and experts so the weaker players can still control the white ball.

To have that, you would have to either be able to automatically determine who is beginner, intermediate or expert (and there is no way to reliably do that) or have it user selectable which, given the competitive nature of players, is unlikely to be set on anything other 'beginner'.
Also, in order for a fair game, everybody has to play under the same rules.

from the first post of this thread, i think that rather than it being part of the game, it could maybe be an option? (like you choose your rank and time etc.). and it would work in a 10sec game, it would be no different selecting a colour than it would be for the play to scroll the mouse over to click the 'request player to take shot again' so i wouldnt see any problems there. i think its worth a trial run atleast.

i like the touching ball idea as it is an official rule of snooker

As with all the ideas so far suggested, and many others which have cropped up over time, I would be interested to see how popular a "simulation" option would be.
That could have all the rules possible, and 3D physics to take care of shots from the cushion, behind other balls etc. Nominating colours, touching balls, chalking the cue, real time nap simulation, even an appointed referee to call misses if you like!
I, for one, would play it. And I know quite a few here would too. But it would never be as popular (edit - long tem popular I mean) as nipping on for a few quick games of arcade.
A massive part of funkysnooker and pool's success is down to the very small learning curve.

Hmmmmmm, sounds...interesting. Like you said it would have to be fairly simple.
How many of those ideas can be done in 2d graphics?

It is possible in 10 sec games, cos it only takes 2 seconds to aim, and then 2 seconds for the spin...and i'm sure it wouldn't take more than a second to just click on the nominated ball. I like these idea's.

been talked about before, not really possible in 10 sec games.

i must admit i can shoot in 5 seconds with spin and everything so it could be possible but for players like destiny who likes to take his time i don't see how it is possible.

Isnt like that at all. There are shots in every break that require some sort of detailed precision that may take 10 seconds without having to apply spin and pace.
Especially whilst on a maximum or big break, there will always be a shot where you have to get it right.
Also I play on a choice of reds...and depending on what i finish best on I will play, so you have to look at angles to break packs, judge what angle you have on the pot. There are loads to consider!
Ovbiously if there are 4 reds left in open play or game is already won, then I could probally put spin and shoot in 0-3 seconds everytime.

The graphics wouldn't change, but to take account of cushions, obstructing balls, and to apply "proper" spin you need to include the vertical angle of the cue, something not currently done and which requires 3D physics to work.

if you play 8 ball pool on miniclip, i think those sort oof '3d physics' are what most people are talking about, and what most people woulkd like.
http://www.miniclip.com/games/8-ball-quick-fire-pool/en/
butthen again, the game is great as it is so another idea is to chooose to play '3d' or as it is now

The ideas were talking about is basically 3D as Spinner said.
For the spin etc, youll need 3D for the angle of the cue, because if the ball is close to the cushion, youll need to angle your cue up abit to put abit of screw on it, thus requiring 3D.
But more to the point, Funksnooker is unique, and not meant to be more real, hence the name Funky.
Maybe possibly retake a foul, say if i got my opponent in a snooker, and he fouled, i could possibly put him back in the Snooker. I'd like to see that brought into possibilitys, other than that, i dont think Funkysnooker should be made more real, it should be made more Funky IMO.

how many times
funky means this game can be run on old machines not because its less real or rules are little different.

To be honest, I don't see how funky can mean "runs on old machines"... that's not what the dictionary will tell you anyway.
