Is it possible to block certain players so they can't play you?
Or at least "mark" a player so you know if it's someone you don't want to play?

Generally most players on this site are honest players but the odd few will cheat by making no attempt to play out of a snooker, just roll it so its safe.

This disgusts me and i would rather not play these players again.

Also sometimes abuse is directed towards players and again it would be nice to be able to block these people....we have a friends list, maybe we should have an enemies list hahaha (their name could be highlighted in a different colour maybe?).

If you are gettin "teased" click on there name and put them on ignore. I think there is an ignore list.

ignore is helpful, but they can still join my table. that means i have to remember each idiot's name...

Just to clarify, there is a big difference between cheating and unsporting. If you do indeed mean cheating, I'm curious to know how you know (faultless play .is insufficient grounds for assuming that there has been cheating).

If, however, you know they are definitely cheating then you should report it - in which case the problem will go away.

regardless of whether it is cheating or not, im all for his idea. if the people on my ignore list could be marked somehow, i wouldnt have to check the list every time someone joins.

maybe people on ignore could be a different colour, like red?

or maybe thats something nick could do for the premium users, put ignore people in red and friends in blue or something or better yet choice of colour for ignore and friends lists

Was commenting on the specific post, to be honest, rather than the thread per se. On that point, I think a different colour would be a good idea. However, I'm not in favour of making it only available to Premium members. If there were a physical block function, there are other things that need to be taken into account - tournaments, which would have to automatically lift the block temporarily and clan/league/non official events which can not be automated. Also, if a physical block is implemented should it be independent of 'ignore' - not sure but I think it is conceivable that you do not wish to block them whilst not having to 'listen' to their chat.

good point at the end about not blocking but just ignoring. that's why a physical block is probably not the best idea. if they could just be marked somehow (color or italics or something), that would satisfy my concerns

yeah true, tapping isnt cheating no matter how frustrating it may get, believe me i was frustrated in 2 seconds a year ago and would smash straight away, now i tap with them and most of time they either smash or make an error.

i like the idea of blocking the ignored user from the room but as buddy said tournaments are automatic so that would have to be lifted for that game, you could have 2 options, Ignore Chat and Block User from Room which could be cancelled out in a tournament game.

I can see that being abused though so maybe ignored users in red is best way to go, also add ignore user on their profile where add friend is.

Clan League games can be a problem because if 2 people have each other on ignore theres nothing much you can do but post on forum and hope that person sees it.

just like to say hw the hell is it cheating to push away why u are in a snooker surley if it was cheating they would have done somthing about it years ago. i.e foul and a miss and the white goes bk

Just so you know in the real game if you deliberately play a push shot then you forfeit the match.

And your solution about the foul and a miss is impossible because a referee is necessary to determine whether you made an attempt to hit the ball or not.

Technically it is not "cheating" to play a push shot because you are worried about your precious ranking but it is definitely unsporting to abuse the lack of a rule.

Fully agree. I always try to get some reds out of the pack and get white safe when aiming on a max/cent for example. People who just push cue ball in the pack creating a touching ball....is so annoying....

About blocking....to be honest...i have only 1 person on "ignore" (and he probably knows im pointing at him now) ..if somebody is starting with abuse or creating touching ball time and time again...i just leave after the game. Simple but effective....as long as they dont come back as guest...........
