I like carom tourneys, but we have very few entrants at the moment. Maybe try a different time?

if winning an original torny with 6 people in gets a notch on the profile then winning one of these should i think or another stat (micro torny win )

then it would be micro torny wins in braketts and not torny wins in braketts

any thoughts

and also iv just noticed if there are less than 16 like in the arcade night torny i just played 1 or more players will only play the same number of games as a micro and if they win get a torny stat for it

What i have been asking a for a long time, either rotating entry times, different hours every day or other hour.
I would participate every day if i wasnt always on my way home when it is on.

Furhtermore i hope there will be al lot more micro tournements.

In my opinion it would be really cool to have it like mostp pokersites, if a microtournement is full, just let an other on start, just like you do on a pokersite, as soon as there are 8 players, a new table opens

This update allows us to have 2 alternative tournament types.

Friendly Tournaments
For those that wish to play tournament just for fun, and for newbies in an event who wish to gain tournament practice. No tournament win is achieved, no tournapoints can be won, and no ranking changes occur. Other achievements like centuries, wins and losses are still recorded. Failure to show still incurs a loss but no ranking change. In essence similar to friendly games.

Nick, I may be not getting this but I haven't seen any friendly Tournaments at all What should I be looking out for ?

On the Carom subject lets just put it on at 20:30 whats wrong with having 2 tournys in the hour the site is usually very busy around that time, and then you can have the choice of 8pm tourny or Carom if you can fit macro tournys every half hour am sure this can be squeezed in!

Also orig tourny starts at 21:30 (this shows theres no problem with half hour tournys) so it would be ideal to have the least played game in a prime time to boost its play

----------------

And yeah I looked out for them and not 1 friendly tourny (as far as I have seen) lets get 1 going! Back to the good old days

The friendly tourneys are listed as "micro arcade tournaments" and run every 3 hours for the moment. Are these the ones you're all referring to?
-----------------------------
edit: Ah, ignore that then. I assumed these were unranked. In that case, friendly tourneys haven't been introduced yet.

As if tournaments didn't have little meaning as it is. You've just ruined the whole concept of winning a tournament now Nick, poor show.

How do tournaments have little meaning on this site when they are the forefront?

Apart from that being ultimately ironic, I'm not whinging i'm putting my point of view across, which as it seems once again is against site rules.

That may be so, but it doesn't mean they don't have little meaning, it would be much more of an achievement to win a tournament that was say only twice a day than it is winning one when there's like 7/8 times a day in each discipline.

Tournaments IMO have very little achievement once won now, so adding more, insignificant ones just worsens that.

Am I confusing things with pool again or do the Micro-tourneys not get registered under tournament wins on the player profile?
(I would say don't list them).

You aren't getting confused (though I often am )

Micro Tournaments
A tournament which is aimed to take 20-25 minutes including the reduced (2 minute) signup time. Games per round, shot time, and number of entrants will be strictly controlled for this aim. Like friendly tournaments a tournament win is not credited, however TournaPoints and tournament double rankings still occur.

Currently I am imagining something like a micro tournament half past each hour with about 8 players, but this can be tuned over time.

Did you know they are not listed on your profile page? They do not count as a "tournament win" in the traditional sense.
Does that solve your concern or were you referring to something else?

Yes, I'm yet to add any friendly tournaments, will look into that now.

Did you read the entire first post? Winning a micro tournament doesn't count as a tournament win. It isn't announced globally and it wont be shown on your tournament wins. (Also after next patch micro results wont be listed on the tournament page.)

The only way micro tournament results compare to other tournaments is they enable people to achieve TournaPoints.
