I don't see why he is investing his time into making the balls shiney and updating the tables when there is an issue like this that his attention should be on.

Well to be fair Chase this issue has only arisen this afternoon
I gather Nick is aware of it and trying to sort it out
If the server has a problem it's not necessarily something he can sort out immediately. It is frustrating for us all but I think if we could all just exercise a little patience I'm sure it will get sorted soon.
One occasion Funky was totally down for over a week - so we should count ourselves lucky really
Edit: for typos

This happened a few weeks ago and I'm fairly sure Nick mentioned that this is out of his control unless he completely switches server (which will probably mean a whole bunch of downtime). This is not the website's fault but the server's.

g_k, this is not the first occasion. I would prefer the website to be down for a period of time whilst the servers are changed to fix the problem than this occur every now and then, it is quite frustrating and it also makes the website look unprofessional and also of a poor quality.

i've just won the regular tourney because of the fault without completing a frame, it'd be good if those tournapoints can be taken off please?

Nick had been texted by fastboysam at around 3 hours ago and he sent back saying he was going to sort it.

Just to be clear, reposting from front page, so that people that have just noticed the thread and haven't read the first page will know that this is a thread requesting for specific changes to cater for the current anomaly with respect to tournaments. It was not intended as a gripe thread for particular disappointments (which may or not be related) or as a discussion of Nick's hosting situation.

Nick, would it be possible the negate the 29/1/11 3:00pm Original Tournament results (both rank and tournapoints - at least from the semi-final onwards) because it was disrupted by sever connection problems?
I was fortunate enough to regain connection for both the semis and final, but my opponents were not so fortunate, resulting in losses that were beyond their control.
I'm sure other tournaments in the future could be affected in a similar way and therefore a mechanism to void results (by admin) I feel would be beneficial.
Cheers.
Edit: thanks Zac

yeah i noticed it bud, yeah people shouldn't be awarded tournapoints if server goes down but just my view but i also respect those who have posted here asking for tournapoints to be removed as they didn't win fairly, something out of anyones control (server going down).

Apologies for downtime. Again it wasn't the server itself but before it reached the site.
Unfortunately we don't get enough cash to have multiple servers to prevent downtime. We run a single machine for funkysnooker. Things must be done on a very tight budget as there's no corporate investment or sponsorship.
Also it's a bit different from an average website - we run an active game. People browsing on other sites might not even notice a few minutes of network problems, but on here it will cause significant problems. However, over the last 2 weeks it's still been more reliable than facebook (but facebook has had some serious glitches also).

This website does suck, how hard is it to keep the website up and running? most websites manage this.

Nick so will this be a regular problem? Or is there a solution so that this wont keep happening? Yeah as you said when your on a average website your not as active so if you time out then it makes no difference but when your in a game on here it's not like you can ignore it for a while
Also if I time out during a game do I get 'Match Abandoned' stat next to my name? As I do try my hardest to keep them down
