Just a suggestion but i would like to see a Champion of Champions event (CofC).

Maybe one per week.

There are currently a huge number of tournaments and i realise there are medals that go on your profile but realistically only the people that spend a huge amount of time on here have a chance of winning these medals but if you had a CofC event it gives a chance to players that don't come on here very often to win a big event and have it shown on their profile.

The entry criteria is simple, you would have to win a tourney in that week to qualify for the CofC event at the end of the week.

The CofC event would also be played like a marathon event but early rounds would be best of 3s minimum.

Not sure how the site owners would organise it but it would be similar to poker sites where you win a satellite into an event and a ticket to this tournament is stored on your profile until you use it in the CofC event.

What do people think?

Great idea, not sure if you noticed a thread I made but this could certainly bring back the achievement of winning a tournament!

The same thing would happen.... if you look the same players who you mention win the medals. And it would require people to be on at the same time.

maybe the people who play daily are the ones who should be rewared anyways?

And also if there are 15 tounrys a day over 7days thatsle 105 people

And a starting of 3 frames so if you start at 2pm will be finished for around 6pm if not abit longer!

But over 1 frame anybody can win so you are right in the fact it needs to be best of 3

I'd say in reality it's about 40-60 different people who win a Tourny a week Si.

The thing is how it fits together. Since we have 6 Tournament types. (excluding Micro/friendly)

If you had 1 CofC for each game type youd get a maximum of 7 entries for Carom. So does everyone just get shovelled into one giant one and game types randomed to remain unbiaed?

It probably would be the same players but the biggest thing to win on here it seems is TournaPoints but not everyone can spend a huge amount of time on here but a player who can only make it on here a couple nights a week for example could still win a tourney, then get a chance to win the CofC at the end of the week.

And players wouldn't have to attend the CofC, it's optional, but yes they would have to be on at the same time, not a huge problem.

I would hope it's something that FunkySnooker would use as an official tournament.

The format i would suggest would be...
Arcade:
All early rounds best of 3
Quarters best of 5
Semis best of 7
Final best of 9

Others:
All early rounds 1 frame
Quarters best of 3
Semis best of 3
Final best of 5

Not sure on carom as i dont really play carom so don't know about how much time it would take.

The ones who play regularly are being rewarded with the medals, im just saying ONE tournament should be more prestigious than others.

You say 15 tourneys a day? Is that just for arcade? Even so it won't be 105 people as we know that some players win more than one in a week. Not sure what the true number would be but i don't think the tournament would take much longer than 2 hours and the only players still going after 2 hours would be the top players who obviously enjoy the tournament play.

There would be one CofC for arcade, 1 for reg, 1 for orig and 1 for carom.

Winners of friendly tournaments would NOT gain entry.

So if you were eligible for more than one fo the types you would have to decide which CofC to enter for that week?

No you enter all 4 providing you have won a tourney of that discipline in that week.

why not make just one CofC which would have random types? A win would be more impressive and carom would get more attention

That was meant was if all the CofC Tournament types ran at the same time as each other. Obviously it'll be hard to play 2 tournys at once

Carom would be fairly quick. You'd have a Tournament fill of very good players who would get a game done in the same amount of time as an Arcade game, more often than not quicker!

Because some people just play arcade....some just play original....some just play carom etc etc

Would be unfair and pointless if you win a arcade tourney in the week then have to play someone in carom in CofC...

Then you would stagger the tournaments.

10am arcade CofC....
1pm reg CofC....
4pm.....Carom CofC

etc etc
