good games m8 and well played, thought i could snatch the first 1 today but played loose on position a few times and then went in-off and then some amazing shots from 8x8 to keep his break going in the 9th leaving me with snookers. was a pleasure to watch him play.

in a marathon encounter of ups and downs the gent from kent snatches victory from the jaws of defeat.

continuing after the first session which ended 3-3 we saw 9 frames of quality and pure rubbish this evening.

the gent went ahead with a forty break after what seemed like an open door fo mooney to take the frame got slammed in his face after a poor miss

and it was the gent's turn to be awful this time with poor play leaving the door open for a quality break of 72 from mooney who was unfortunate to miss the century

virt_slayer retaliated after a superb long pot after a poor safety shot from moons, the gent went on to clear up for the break of 100

and back went the see-saw after some poor play by both was overruled by a 60 break from mooney

this time a 30 break by mooney after a poor break-off by the gent was stalled by a rattled red. the gent went on the clear up for 74 and the frame

the gent was truly awful this frame and was unable to take advantage of the claims by mooney of the sunlight being in his eyes. mooney regained his sight later on in the frame to clear up a forty break to pull himself back into it

and mooney pulled himself back up well with a jaw-dropping 72 break to pull this match apart and put himself at the advantage after a 53 break from virt.

after some awesome safety play from the gent he pulled ahead by 20 points then mooney threatened to end it all but was halted on 25. the gent went on to secure the frame with a forty break and some more safety play

after a good break-off from mooney the gent had a glint in his eye as he lined up a difficult long red near the cushion, this was a make or break shot and he pulled it off with superb style and position on the blue to match. from there is was always going to be victory for the gent as he hit a beautifully builded break of 91 with an unfortunate miss along the cushion with 2 reds remaining

some of these games were beautiful, others were scrappy, but as they say lads...

Q. So Mooney, Your out of this years World Championships. What's your reaction?

A. Very dissapointing as I could, and should have played better. I had a good first match but i struggled in both sessions of this match, couldn't get in the balls at all, couldn't really do anything to be honest. But he took more off his chances and kept cool to win the last game with a nice break.

Q. What's next for you now?

A. I think it's clear. I have to go and improve.
