If everyone started doing the same thing tho i think admin would put a stop to it, the feature wasn't implemented for that reason.
I agree with losing stats, no where near as many people would deactivate then.

I don't see a problem with this whatsoever...This person doesn't technically have 2 accounts on the go, since at any one time he has 1 account...he just chooses to swap, which he is aloud to do, it's his choice that he puts so much effort in changing back and forth...So I don't think he's abusing anything, just simply doing something he is aloud to do, the option's there so what's the problem? But I think that once you've deactivated, you should lose all your stats there and then, simple.

most of them do but you can get bugs where certain accounts doesn't in which case need an admin to sort.
that account did get deleted by the way max so you know.

Agreed matey, I think if you deactivated there's no need for your stats...As you're choosing to get rid of the account permanently...So the reactivate after 7 days is a load of...Yeaaaa.
lol yeah, maybe could do 48 hours instead with losing stats?
i think it got implemented to help clan leagues as people would deactivate drunk one night and would have to remake their account and wait 1 month before they can play.

edited mine too, if they lose stats once deactivated it may make people think twice about deactivation or switching unless they don't care about losing their stats. at the moment people can use it as a hobby (not saying they do) but they could switch at anytime (within a week) and know their previous stats is still there, might encourage people to deactivate more i think.

If you deactivate a account with a lot of tournaments and high ranking, Then go straight onto a new account and do garbage you will just go back onto your account with lots of tournaments like the person i noticed keeps doing.

yeah i see what you mean but lets not talk about this person
at the moment i think people feel like 50% its wrong and the other 50% think theres nothing wrong with it.
i would like to see what an admin thinks though of the thread and ideas presented.

It be interesting to see the statistics of people who deactivate who actually reactivate i reckon it be fair low.
02:14 Fri 12 Aug 11 (BST) [Link] Doubt it got implemented for clan league.
People sometimes deactivate because they're drunk or angry (in the heat of the moment) and then regret it the next day. This gives the option of undoing your mistake. That it helps clan league is just a bonus for us.

It got implemented to stop the forums looking a mess with deleted user everywhere.
I can't see the reason why the stats don't get removed tho, seems stupid that they don't to me.

Yeah that would of been why the 7 day reactivation was implemented I'm guessing. I don't think it says there about why it was first implemented does it

don't think so, the 7 days just came as an idea from pinky when him/jan thought of regrettable users.

Bit of history, then hopefully some helpful info/debate.
In the past, people could delete their accounts completely, with no going back. This meant anyone who did so had no going back, plus it made the forums messy but most of all it lest the username free for anyone else to pick up and so could lead to lot of confusion in that sense.
Some users also did so to re-set their stats, for whatever reason, which again left things messy, and left no history.
So, the reset option was introduced so people could start over without risking losing their account and have their reset recorded on their profile so everyone knew they had done so.
Then deactivation was introduced to both keep the integrity of stats and forums, and to avoid "identity theft" of a deleted account.
However, some users (childish as it sounds) would deactivate in what can only be described as a tantrum and then change their minds. For a while it was a case of "tough", but due to repeated requests on the forums (mainly from clan runners, as people leaving and coming back with new accounts was a pain for them to follow) the ability to reactivate was introduced, provided it is done so within 7 days.
However, now we are aware some may be abusing the self-reactivation system to effectively have multiple accounts.
For this reason, any account within the 7 day self-reactivation period will be considered active.
Obviously we need to fine-tune this, which may take some time and hands-on experience of individual cases, so the rules pages shall only be updated once this is done.
Comments welcome. But a reminder not to name and shame on the forums.

Yes, This is what i have been trying to get at the whole time.
When you deactivate and go onto a new account most will do it for they get a fresh profile to improve there stats from there last profile instead of reseting etc.
I just find it wrong you can switch back and fourth as many times as you want, It is no harm in a way, It is abusing the system and in my opinion is having two accounts at once which is against site rules.
I see you posted this on pool, And been some good replies over there compared to over here.
Also about the naming and shaming, I have just received a message by the person who i noticed does this a lot. But he did it on the account i never new he had so that's 2 of the same people on ignore for harrassing me with messages

Hopefully the people who couldn't see a problem with it can actually understand now why it is abusing the system.
