true he is right though, some admins do mind while others do not, if the account is found out (by playing ranked or w/e) then it could be banned so thats where the risk factor comes in.

I think it's daft that you can just simply message admin dgen saying you are off on another account. If 99% of users tried that, they wouldn't be allowed at all. It's just because you're not an "unknown"

If it was up to me, I would ban your second account every time. It says they don't look for second accounts.

I also do think however that the rules need changing regarding second accounts. It should really say that if a user is found to have a second account, then that will be banned without question.

If you want to go and play friendlies, then play as a guest.

No second account running concurrently should be allowed under any circumstances ..surely

Although as Seb pointed out 4 months ago there is no reason or advantage gained if people deactivate and reactivate however frequently ..

You will always get people deactivating frequently ..i could name 20 odd...why they do it i have no idea unless they get fed up, playing badly, upset someone etc..

why people constantly reset is beyond me as well ..but each to their own I suppose..

I have deactivated once or twice ..trying to get away from the site usually because it is so addictive..lol..but failed..

The rules clearly state that multiple accounts are not allowed, so until a thread is made by Nick stating that we are now allowed more than one account nothing will change.

It seems like it's just one admin that says it's allowed, and thats why people call him a legend, best admin ever etc, because they can get there own way with him, where as any other admin they can't!

Try asking every admin if it's okay to have multiple accounts dgen, apart from the one that tells you it's allowed.

i don't need to as i haven't made one since the second account rule got changed, and its not just because of that that i think ??? is best admin hes helped me out quite a lot, especially advice, i have other admins in mind as well, one from pool is equal to ??? on here and ive had some help from him also

before it got changed i had a carom goal which was get 50% turn success by 500 turns which i would need to reset quite a bit to achieve which is why i had a second account at the time as i didn't need to play ranked and i could reset anytime i liked without worrying about my main stats if you like.

@ damee - i don't like playing as a guest because i don't like the "office" layout, i like "black metal" and sometimes i use "ghost" for carom which i cannot do as a guest. i also play with cue not showing when aiming. If guests could change all them things then fair enough i may consider it but until then ill stay where i am now.

Also i like how my name appeared all of a sudden, yes i messaged an admin before the change to see if it was fine, my words was something like this "hey ???, is it ok if i make a 2nd account for this reason?", if it wasn't i wouldn't have made one or admin would have banned it as they knew it was there so didn't need to check it. wasn't just me whos had second accounts, people still do it today, pool proves that.

It's just from reading your previous post it sounds as if it's allowed, thats the only reason i said ask the other admins, cause I'm pretty sure most/if not all of them will say it isn't!

When an account is de-activated, and a new account is made, the account that has been de-activated is treated as a duplicate account until the period is up.

If we spot people abusing the feature as per the discussion then we can look into and ban any duplicate accounts (as far as the rules will stretch)

People who spot such acts can report it using the relevant functions as previously stated staff cannot be here 24/7...even tougher around this busy period

Secondly, I really do not know what gives you the right to message admin saying you have a second account when it says you shouldn't have more than one? If you want to see how you do with new stats, reset if it bothers you that much.

If you're allowed to go on a second account and see what you can do with new stats while still retaining your current stats, then the reset button has become quite useless to be honest.

anyway the point i was trying to make is that it wasn't just me who did it, perhaps im one of the few who did message admin but because i saw others with 2 accounts and i messaged to make sure (whats wrong with that? others would just do it), people still do it today in Pool Clan League and its getting a pain to be honest.

my whole view on 2nd accounts changed when sam changed the rule also last season on pool someone actually used 3 accounts so yeah.

Once again dgen, the rules in the help section have not changed since I first started here (end of 2006!), this is what I'm referring to.

My point is, you should not be allowed to post or play on 2 different account for any reason what so ever. Just because you messaged admin doesn't make it all ok in my eyes.

Also as I stated before, when you "used to" do it, if some other users tried it, then I'm sure a lot of them would be reminded about the rules, and wouldn't be allowed.

Or course others did it, but you're the only one coming on here and basically boasting that you did. (I can say for sure that I haven't anyway)

by the way i agree with you about the rules, i should have read them more, i can't change the past though even though sometimes i would like too, when i started making them i was a child on the site, taking things seriously etc but that all changed last year since then i have matured

simples

a second account enables players for what ever reason to play all "friendlies or warm up games" on that account and only play tourney matches on there main account then that would alter there "RANKING" thats 1 way of looking at a second account...
but there only cheating themselves...
for instance i have like a lot of people played well over 10,000 games on my account but if i had a second account this 1 would only show something like 1,000 games but my rank would be a lot higher...it doesn't make me a better player than some1 else just means i can alter the way my rank looks.. and as this game is driven on points for winning that would make other look at me as a person that doesn't loss many ranking games.. its a mind game

at the end of the day who they harming? only themselves that's all ... but to stop people thinking and rightfully so that some1 is getting 1 over on them ban all second accounts better still.. ban there first account and keep them banned... mmmwwwwaaaaahhhh

I deactivate and reactivate 2-3 times a week. In order to avoid stupid msgs from people they have nothing to say.

Privacy settings in this site simply do not exist. Its fascistic and shows lack of care from admins. Sorry, but this is the truth.

1) i should be able to ignore everyone at once while playing
2) not to accept offline messages from anyobody
3) my profile should not be visible to the ones i dont like them to see, especially from outside the site
4) mods shouldnt be allowed to PM everyone without their consent

...and soooo many more....
