I was about to post on here a new thread regarding him he's a good guy

Steve Jobs started of as an average Entrepeneur, worked at Walt Disney

Resigned to Apple in 2011 and their share price droped 10% I think due to the fact he is their god

Also $8.4billion in America makes him in the top 30 richest men in America I believe

Also people who else post don't make any stupid inmature jokes on this matter as he was an absoluter genius and a great sucessful man

An amazing quote taken from a good friend:

' R.I.P. Steve Jobs. Today we lost a visionary, a one of a kind man who not only had a vision for the world but formed not only Apple but NeXT (whose computer was used to invent the World Wide Web) and Pixar. The man who made computing accessible to you and me, the man who saw the talents of Jonny Ive and recognised the fact that even in an office, things should be beautiful and easy to use. We have lost a true icon today.'

I have heard all the jokes and everyone is a disgrace like ;I'm a PC, and I'm still alive. ' I just applied for a vacancy post at apple and got turned away with them saying sorry theres no jobs anymore!' and 'Ohhhh here they come. Have some respect *Name* He was a billionaire with better cars, women, and houses than the rest If us. If I didn't own a HTC ANDROID device I would be more appalled.'

The idiots who said this know who they are shame on them SCUM!c He was an absolute genius

Something not right with this world.

A man who helped create a mega company gets all this hype, meanwhile an also great man who served his country in the Navy Marines for 30 years, protecting the people he loved and his country dies and nothing...

A man dies on his birthday, he served his country for 30 years, whilst he didnt make the Ipad or Ipods, he raised lost boys into found men. He trained 'worthless rodents' into veterens of the sea. He risked his life, gave his life so others can live theirs in peace. Sure his pension was great, but then they decide to revoke funeral payments leaving a grieving widow, lonely reduced to tears due to fears that she cannot afford to bury a great man. They called him chief, they called him captain, they called him a hero.

I called him grandad.

Personally, I could live without Apple. But without the British forces, would I even be living at all. A warlord dies, and materialistic fame hungry wannabes hear all about Steve. In the papers, articles, top stories, news channels.

Founder of Apple - Will go down in history, forever.

30 year server of his country - Already forgotten by the country he fought for.

Someone who is known by millions will always get more coverage than someone who is known by hundreds. The world has always been like that.

Harsh comments about Steve Jobs tbh.

Agree with cmurphy.
There are different ways to serve your country and to serve mankind. One is the military. Another is to create innovations that push humanity into a new era.
We do not progress because of armed forces- to the contrary.

Everyone who puts their lives at risk to serve their country deserves the highest appreciation and honors. However, that has absolutely nothing to do with Steve Jobs and has no place being discussed on this day. He deserves all the praise he gets.

He be the person in 200 years time were history looks back at him the way we look back at Einstein, and so on.
We don't notice as we are living in the period now, But everything has changed so much in last Ten year.

I think cue powers post was heat of the moment and sorry about your loss, And i don't want to take a dig at cue power but we have rememberence day once a year, many people wear poppies for a week, there are lots of war statues up, Obviously as a nation we cannot remember every single soldier who fought and died for us that we why we remember them all together.

Although I'm not a huge fan of Apple as a company, mainly due to how overpriced their products are, I still appreciate how much of a legendary man Steve Jobs was, still is, and always will be.

I could go into detail about why he was so great, however I think the word "genius" sums him up pretty nicely.
I wouldn't say he was a great inventor, because the iPod, iPhone, etc... were already around in some way or another, however he knew how to expand on these products, in a way that brought people together.

Obviously not all of the credit for Apple goes to him alone, but he was the front man who ran everything. He got people working together in order to create amazing, innovative designs and products.

He will be missed, but never forgotten.

R.I.P Steve Jobs

I totally agree with Derry.

And to be honest with regards to masterplan's comment I think Bill Gates will be looked back on more than Steve Jobs.

Yeah sad day for apple and for Steve's family, RIP, served your company, family, country and world well in your own right.

To Derry, I know the feeling mate my grandad was in the army and died aged 75 6 years 9 months ago now and he got a great send off but not as great as he deserved.

Steve Jobs helped to build a world and your grandad helped to preserve it they both deserve respect but I agree that soldiers are risking their lives and deserve better support from this country.
RIP

I take it you've also never watched a Pixar movie? Another of Steve Jobs' companies.

Point is- all of us without fail have been affected by this man, so he deserves all the praise he gets in my opinion.
Members of the military get praised on many other occasions, yesterday was just not that day.

A Pixar movie? Well... I take it all back...

I think this is being over played. If the chap had cured cancer, stopped poverty then this current reaction would be justified. He didnt do anything that I could live without. I dont need pixar movies? Why would I? The only thing he created was desireable in demand materialistic objects.

Could also point out that Apple products were targeted most during the Riots, were many inicent people lost their lives, businesses, capital assets. I couldnt live without say, Music, but I dont need my Ipod? I couldnt live without football, but I dont need to watch it on an Ipad.

I just think its a shame that they replay the same headline over and over when the people who help the world more than this man has, dont get any credit whatsoever.

Distasteful comments by me maybe some of you feel that way. I dont have anything against the bloke, he was very successful. But I dont even hold him higher than Richard Branston or Alan Sugar.

You have to realize, it's not just the products that makes him so great. It's the way he has connected everybody through the products. He was a genius, whether you use Apple products or not, that's just how it is.

He changed the way technology is used today.. He took computers, which were only to be used by major businesses, simplified them, and put them into homes around the world...

I'm not a fan of Apple products.. The only thing I own made by Apple is my £34 iPod shuffle, which to be honest isn't anything special, but even I can see and appreciate how much of a fantastic person Steve Jobs was.

Just because he didn't fight for his country with a gun in his hand doesn't mean that he should be forgotten, or that his death should go unnoticed. He DID change the world, and for that he should and will be missed.
