I cant see the score limit getting increased at all. By doubling the score limit you're then doubling the time scale to play the game. Which then alters the ranking scale etc etc.

But it has taken myself 2 years to play 3500 frames of carom... and the same for Adam (who has the most wins) to play 7200 frames of carom.

So that then means it would take 4 years to play as many frames. Meaning Adam or the top 10 for wins would then take years to catch up.

Which seems a little drastic?

I think the limit should be increased, but for tournament play only. Friendly and ranked games, 5 is fine.

The reason Arcade is the most popular game is because its relatively easy to win.

If you then increase the score limit then carom will be dominated by 3 people like it use to be.

With a limit of 5 it then allows a fairer chance for weaker players to win.

If we reduce arcade to 57 then, it's even fairer...

In fact lets NOT have original at all, coz it's impossible for weak players...

Purpose of every game & every gamer is improvement...and NOT to be able to win pro's as a lucky beginner ... the whole competition & effort goes down the toilette like this... it's ridiculus... sorry.

I think there should be a sign saying 'Mind the gap' to be honest.

like i said if you have it as a friendly option problem solved for everyone.

still race to 5 in ranked so no rank change needed, friendly could have a choice between 5, 10, 20 or 25, in fact doesn't matter about what numbers you choose as a friendly game you only gain a win or a loss (depending on the outcome of the game) but no rank involved.

I don't think that could happen because of time lag on the internet.. for pong or air hockey, you need a real time interface, which FS doesn't have, as we have lag on the internet...

As for the original idea, I do like it!

But I agree we need the 1 player game like golf on FP...

Yeah a single player carom game would be great on here and with a 100 shot challenge the challenge would always be there to better your score because nobodys going to get 100% so a leader board with the top 50 percent hits would add more of a challenge to the game

Another thing that might stop Nick from implementing this, is that Carom isn't the most played game type on here, whereas on Pool, it's done on a table that is played a lot...

Thing is on pool all the games bar 8UK are played on the same table, so of course it is played a lot!

Carom is by far the least popular game on the site, putting a 2nd game on it (or variation or whatever you want to call it) is just simply not justified. If a table needs something new on it, it would be original (which is getting more and more popular actually, while carom isn't really)
