If this gets to the point next season (after German Masters this season) if the interest is still there and more than 16 want to play then we could do what chase said in one of the first few pages of the old thread and do a qualification round.

The draw would be random, win and your through to the main tournament, lose and you lose out on the main tournament and take home $0.

hopefully thats an incentive to keep going if the ranking system isn't

A game of missed opportunities so far. Really scrappy first frame with both of us missing several shots before I took it. I hit consecutive cents after that. Then he started potting a few and hit 2 halfs that were just enough to win the frames.
I then had a potential max ruined on 56 after what I thought was a nice split of the pack left me nothing but a long one near the cushion.
In the last one, I had an open table but somehow found a spot to leave no shot on despite a billion reds around. He then missed another black from the spot to the bottom left (a theme for him so far) and I was able to clear for the win.

Standard should get a bit better hopefully.
