This really is shocking news, and made even worse by te way it happened. Played him a few times back in the day, never really spoke to him but I imagine he was a great lad and everyone else seems to think so too.

Very sad news. Didn't know him and can't recall playing him but from the impression I got from the way he conducted himself on forums and how others viewed him he was a great guy.

Very tragic in how it happened also, thoughts with family and friends.

I agree with everything said here everytime I spoke to Ian it was a true pleasure one of the most genuine guys you could ever wish to talk to gone too soon? What a massive understatement I think personally I would like to see his name kept on as part of his legacy just kept there but obviously never used but I feel he was so fantastic as a person that the name shouldn't be delete so someone else in a year may be able to have it, he is a guy that deserves ultimate respect as he showed others through the way he acted in this site for years top bloke a good friend on this site spoke to him everytime we was both on at the same time and he will be sorely missed hopefully always in our heads an hearts and commiserations to his closest friends and family you had a great one in Ian.

I would like to echo the sentiments of many on this thread. I didn't know Ian personally but reading through his posts on this forum and chatting to him when playing, he really was a true gent. RIP fella and my deepest sympathies go out to friends and family at this difficult time.

Im absolutely gutted to hear this sad news, I didnt personally know Ian away from the funky world of games but I have to admit this is the saddest news I have heard on these sites in all my years on both pool and snooker, he was an online friend to me and a truly great person that I have ever met, genuine and will be greatly missed by a lot. I hope his family are ok in this sad time. RIP mate never forgotten.
