Can't wait til either of them come up against a team who actually decides to play against them rather than just trying to stop them playing...
Don't think that will happen unless they play each other.
I don't see Italy, England, or Portugal doing anything but play Chelsea.
Maybe it was bad for football that Chelsea showed they could get past Barcelona playing like this. Now everyone's doing it...

If thats what you gotta do to win then thats what you're gonna do. You play to win, not to entertain people.

True, which is awful for us and for football.
Luckily, it rarely succeeds, so maybe it will pass...

Spain are brilliant at controlling the ball, but my god what a borefest that was...... it's no wonder they've won most of their games in the past few tournaments 1-0.
Two out of 5 people I was watching it with fell asleep by the 70th minute.

They really just look like a poor man's version of Barcelona. Very much hoping they get found out, whether it's by Germany or anyone else.

They are only boring because teams get 10 men behind the ball against them. If a team took them on at their own game it would be a very open (none) contest.

Edit: Oh I see this is already being discussed, but lets not pretend Germany will do anything radically different to that of France. Schweinsteiger and Khadira holding Gomez up front on his own with Ozil asked to try and link up the midfield and attack, then Podolski and Muller doing more defensive work than offensive. The only difference is you'll probably have more quality when your on the ball.

Eusebio in stable condition in hospital after heart scare

Portugal legend Eusebio is in a stable condition after being taken to hospital complaining of feeling unwell.

The 70-year-old, who has been with the national side during Euro 2012 as a team ambassador, has a history of heart trouble and was taken to hospital in Poznan, Poland, on Saturday.

Hospital spokesman Stanislaw Rusek said: "The news is good. Doctors are satisfied that his condition is stable.
"I talked to him and I asked him if his heart hurt. He said 'not at all.' "

Hope he's ok he's had a lot of heart problems recently.

Eusebio played 614 games during 15 years with Benfica, scoring 638 goals. What a record.

Can't say the best team didn't win but that game had Chelsea written all over. Time for the assualt of Olympics hype now, great... Bored of the Olympics before they've even started.

Italy's defence was absolutely woeful, why we constantly sat back I'll never know. We had some brilliant chances in the first half and then we just decide to sit back for the rest of the game.

Completely baffles me, I don't blame Hodgson, just the players.

yep but looking at the attempts Italy had about 7 times more than England probably and had nearly 2 thirds possession. England was unlucky in the shootout as we had a chance but was a bit lucky to get there

We didn't do ourselves justice. Italy are a better side but if we were at our best we could have won that game as Italy were beyond poor when finishing. It was the luck we needed but just didn't take it.

I dont understand one thing.. Why is it.. that our players get tired after 10 minutes.. and the Italians and other countries can go on like that for a year lmao

I don't we were tired tbh. We just sat back all game and when it came to penalties we were worn down and rusty when it came to shooting seeing as practically all our chances were in the air. Still thinking of Johnson's chance in the first half, how Buffon kept that out I'll never know.

true but Italy had several chances too. We played well the first 20 minutes with a chance or two then Italy outplayed us with several chances.

was a shame to go out in Penalties as looked good at 2-1 but shouldn't have got there as both teams had several chances.

Certainly don't think sitting back was the way to go tonight. We should have switched it round straight from half time and gone for it because I thought Italy were poor to have that many chances and not score. Easy to say that now but that's my opinion.
