Makes me think that it is a terrible idea to pick a scorer.

Still open to suggestions if no one makes one by 5PM Britain time then we will go with this idea!

Well do a half season prediction Mooney, like say ask who will be to come 31st December and what not and best placed promoted team and stuff.

There are two rounds of internationals. How about predict the scores of the first round like topgearmad says and name 8 teams who you believe will win both games.
If you get the team correct, you get +2 points. If the team doesn't win both games, you get -1 point.

We need order and structure guys.

It becomes hassle when it gets messy etc.

Most leagues similar to these just have a system where each week of premiership fixtures, you predict the scores, a goalscorer and a banker.

This way everything is fair and coordinated.

I think that should be deployed each weak for the premiership with a ONCE a month special like the crazy predictions we do.

I have been thinking about this and I will draw up a proposal of a structure.

Exmaple being --

Month 1
Week 1 - Premier Prediction
Week 2 - Premier Prediction
Week 3 - Premier Prediction
Week 4 - Premier Prediction + Goals Galore Special

Month 2
Week 1 - Premier Prediction
Week 2 - Premier Prediction
Week 3 - Premier Prediction
Week 4 - Premier Prediction + Champions League special

If I get enough time, I will propose a special every 2 weeks to make it more entertaining. At the start of each month I will indicate the upcomming events for that specific month.

Does this sound like something that interests the participants?

i like different things each time, anyone can predict scores of a game but i like the guess thing about this league

I am with Seb on this one, Has worked well so far, there will currently be a VERY tight deadline for the internationals which is why I don't think it would be very good to do one at the minute, but if others want to then go ahead.

I think it would be more beneficial to have a prediction for the halfway point through the season, say end of December and do a prediction upon most goals, cards clean sheets league positions and what not, and have a longer deadline on it rather than rush a prediction on some teams many don't even know of.

As for Derry's idea, I like the rough way it is run now it seems more... exciting than to have a schedule.

Yeah that's the idea, all suggestions would be VERY welcome, like maybe you write it out and I will take credit? Sounds good to me. Failing that I should have one written up by 6 pm today and anyone is free to come up with ideas of what to add in there, or how to fix this broken "p" button on my keyboard.

The only reason why I say it, is I am actually cheating on the FPL.

The one I am currently in has structure and a set amount of points every week etc and its more fair.

Whereas this one, one week there is 14 points up for grabs, the week after its 50 up for grabs, and then a fair few times its pot luck. Like the one last week with goals scored in each league, its more of a guess than a educated prediction. Probably why I didn't participate...

yeah but its boring when you predict scores each week, man u 1-1 chelsea, liverpool 2-0 arsenal etc anyone can predict those but its better having different things each week as makes it more exciting (plus last 2 predictions i had to check on football websites to have a rough idea about my prediction), last 2-3 weeks by all means do big points so anyone can win but this way is more exciting surely?

This is not meant to be a serious competition lol. Half the people here never watch any of the Championship games; I'm sure there are several who never watch Premier League games either.

The lucky aspect is a good thing. Look at all the prediction we've done over the last two years- several of them are pure luck! I think systematizing it and giving it a rigid structure would turn people off it.

I don't think anyone is struggling for ideas by the way. mich was lazy and the games are already on Friday, so putting something out now makes little sense.

i like it how it is though, random predictions, makes it all the more interesting, or i'd just go to ladbrokes.

The way it's currently run is nice, but it does require someone to do the work. mich has been very good early in the season, but a backup for when mich is lazy is a good idea.
