You don't have to have played loads of games to be a mod. Look at Nick for example, he hasn't even played 200 games and he's the main person on the website.
Being a moderator isn't just about the amount of games you've played, it's the contribution you make to the website.

Ye its based on knowledge of computers and helpfulness of the person they don't have to have played many games or be very good, and brighteyes is always on the forums so its starnge you haven't seen her around

_brighteyes_ and drunk_lad, are great people and they will get on with the job they are set. _brighteyes_ hasn't played much games and whats your point? You dont have to. Like toontomh said Nick hasnt played over 200 games yet and he owns the whole thing. She is online most of the time thats all that really matters!

yeah as said it's not about the games played - the less they play the more they're in the forums helping out! and the 2 mentioned are great people and great mods so it's not a problem

well i guess its about time this came up. i'm not ashamed to say i have a completely terrible rank, and no i have not played thousands of games. i have however been on and off this site for years, and just recentely (past few months) i've been a consistent user on everyday around 1 am uk time, and stay on for a good few hours. i'm sorry i've never said hello to you, but usually there are loads of users on, and giving a hello to each one would be impossible. i appreciate your doubts to my moderating job, because hopefully i can prove you wrong in the future by being a sucessful moderator. i've been on the forums a lot, and i was an extremely consistent user on the pool site for years. i know my way around the snooker site extremely well. and unlike some users who may be on here every day for 4 years, playing games constantly... i am 99% of the time well behaved. the users who were declined their applications were either extremely close to getting it, or had significant reasons why not (ie. more than one account of abuse, cheating ,etc). the moderators who vote take the voting very serious, and well i hope they took my promotion extremely serious too. Hopefully I can change your mind as to me being a doubtful candidate for being a mod. I guess time will tell....

I think brighteyes justified her point very well - and shes on more than most mods and from what i can see is a pretty damn gd 1 too. Clued up and not afraid to speak - good addition

I'm not angry, more sad than anything. I understand I haven't played many games, but I don't see how that could affect my moderating when i've been a part of this site for a very long time.
I just hope people won't make any unfair judgements about me before they give me a chance to prove that i can do the job well.

_brighteyes_ is a great person and will be a great moderator im sure...just because she hasnt played alot doesnt mean anything...i'd rather someone who moderates properly than someone who just cares bout rank hence _brighteyes being a good choice for mod....nick wouldnt have chosen her otherwise... and as for drunk_lad his a decent guy too and will become a great mod
well done guys

I agree with cool_dude. If you don't know these people then i'm amazed, They are very active and very helpful hence why they have been chosen to help us out, I think members will be glad that we have more moderators now. To be honest i don't like this kind of thing, if you don't like a mod then thats fine. But to start a thread asking and underminding in my few why they were chosen instead of someone else is a bit annoying. If you have a problem with any member of staff, then you are always welcome to sent a mail to contact us.

I agree completely cool_dude (and revenge) - posted at the same time!
Brighteyes and i have had our moments (as i'm sure she will agree!), but she is one of the very few people i know with the integrity and maturity to agree to disagree.
I have absolutely no doubt she will be an excellent and fair mod.
To quote an old neighbour of mine : "Jealousy is a sharp sword"

Ok, seeing as everyone else has made their point i might aswell too.
Firstly, rank and stats have never been an issue when deciding a moderator. As said, when i was promoted here, i hardly played any games at all.
So was it a bad decision? In the end did i manage to do the job set for me?
There is no answer to this! It's totaly irrelevant! Thats the point im making.
I admire your opinion on the matter, although sounds a bit like jumping to a conclusion without even thinking about it.
It's the way we view things as individuals. The reason you may not have seen her online may possibly be the fact that she comes on a different time. Quite frankly, the team we have currently are the best ever. We can now moderate a wider time range (for example, brighteyes being from another time zone will mean a different time slot in which to fill up). In that respect, i do not dissagree with anything you have said in the first post. By all means tell me to 'take a hike' But i feel you need to back up that sort of opinion with something constructive without basically 'accusing' staff for their choice in moderators (although thats good coming from me recently :-P).
_brighteyes_ and drunk_lad have settled in fast and are doing a fantastic job i must say. They deserve credit more than anything.
Enough of this crap about games played where ever that came from because it's not an issue. At least try to get to know them. Starting out being a moderator can be tough, being a moderator can be a tough job any time but everyone on the team is a voluteer in helping to keep the site clean and family friendly. Surely it's no contest!
