i dont think we need to be as big as pool in terms of users but say enough to up the tournies to 128 rather than 64 limit would be nice. Word of mouth is best way to get new players by a mile!
To be honest id rather not have all the people from pool flooding over here as when i tried the pool i found like 70% of the players were idiots.

You all bang on about not wanting funkypoolers on here, yet i reckon at least 70% of the members here were members on FP before this.
I found this through pool, and whenever i get a little bored of pool i come here. This site will never be as big as pool as pool is alot easier and quicker to play, when i know i have alot of time i'll pop on here for a few games, if i don't know what i'm doing i'll be on pool.
Plus I'm an FJ (forum junkie) on funkypool, our forums are a happy and friendly place.

Oi john back to pool for you with those comments. I think our forums are pretty friendly too, i barely ever see any arguements going on.
And as for the comment that we will never be as big as pool, i disagree with that too. A lot of times the people who come on here are the people who were on pool in the beginning and were looking for a new challenge. Therefore, as pool gets older, we'll be seen as the fresh game.
Also, because our site offers a more "mature" type of environment, i think we appeal much more to the older crowd

Some good ideas, and interesting views! Its not that long ago that arcade snooker was introduced, thats made a huge difference here numbers-wise.
I think in game announcements on each site with links to the other would be good, along with a little more prominance on the homepages.
I feel no seperation between the sites, i just see it as 6 funkygames! In that respect, both snooker games are already much more busy than the now defunct pro pool games were to end up with.
If you do a search for "online snooker game", Funkysnooker is the second site on googles list, but a search for "online pool game" only see's poolsharks near the bottom of the page!
Time is a big factor though, for me at least. Out of the 6 games, origional snooker is by far my favourite, but i dont play that much as i rarely have the time.

I never said your forum was unfriendly. And it's just my opinion that are based on the facts i've seen so far that snooker will not be as big as pool. I'm not saying it's no better, i like both games the same.

As for your statement that this site is for more mature people, i think not.
I'm sorry, don't want to cause arguments, but alot of comments on her have annoyed me a little, makes people from pool feel un-welcome!

I agree with 2good. If i ever go on pool (which is hardly ever) it feels as if you are insignificant plus nobody listens to you, i.e moderators. I would hate for that to happen to funky snooker. Also, having beginners join this site wouldnt make it very popular with higher ranked players as i find there are more 600's than ever nowadays. But i suppose, we all started there at some point

I touched on it before, but i have to agree with you John!
I was once told to leave snooker altogether and told to reset or i would be booted (i didnt have too many games played anyway so i did it to attempt to keep the peace, as most know, it didnt work! )
As i said, i've never understood this, since i have always seen snooker and pool as simply one set of funkygames.
However recent changes have improved the situation no end, which i have no doubt will help increase the sites popularity even more.

I understand you're an annoying bugga Spinner but that wasn't right, but i'm sure is in the past!
I have to say i agree with you, there seems to be this under lying competition between the 2 sites when in essence we are all one and equal.
And i agree that changes will make the site better, they even stole one of the funniest funkypool moderators whos put downs and attitude towards rule breakers always left a big smile upon my face.

Awww, we don't hate you guys and you're all definitely welcome here. There is a bit of sibling rivalry between the sites, but trust me there is more "anti-snooker" or "pro-pool" threads on pool.
As for the mature bit, i just meant that if you go in the chats there's less of the teens talking, and more of like the epople in their 30's ish.
And spinner, i hope you know now that if a mod would to say that, the rest of the mod team would have their tail.
We all want more users, and to have a better site. And part of this is accepting the fact the majority of our users come from pool.

Maybe alot of users do come over from pool. I for one didn't and to be honest i played pool for about an hour and really didnt enjoy it! Yeah definitely dominated by younger players. although i'm young i would ceretainly prefer to play and chat with the people from this site, its alot friendlier.

I started on poolsharks a while back, then moved to snooker for a bit when you could only play original snooker. I then moved back to pool because although original is a very good game, it isn't the most thrilling of games. Arcade snooker is the success story of making the site popular, as it combines both snooker with UK 8 ball and it has been good for the site, and thats when i came back to snooker - as many other people have done.
In my experience members and even moderators are more friendly over here and members seem to have more respect for each other. I think increased popularity of the site will be both good and bad. Good because it will get more attention, and bad because like in pool you will just be a number pretty much because of the huge number of regular users.
But bringing more people into funkysnooker will be beneficial to snooker - it is already the best online snooker game and increased users will reflect this.

What magic_man was referring too earlier johny1 is that we don't want the immature idiots that go on pool, not all people on pool are like that of course. When you come on here and rubbish this site pretty much, you should expect negative comments back.
