What magic_man was referring too earlier johny1 is that we don't want the immature idiots that go on pool, not all people on pool are like that of course. When you come on here and rubbish this site pretty much, you should expect negative comments back.

I can read! At what point did i rubbish this site?

Awww, we don't hate you guys and you're all definitely welcome here. There is a bit of sibling rivalry between the sites, but trust me there is more "anti-snooker" or "pro-pool" threads on pool.

Are you saying there are threads on Funkypool that rubbish this site and it's users? I want evidence, rather than sweeping statements brighty. Just be very careful what you say in a debate, and be prepared to back it up.

You all bang on about not wanting funkypoolers on here, yet i reckon at least 70% of the members here were members on FP before this.

I found this through pool, and whenever i get a little bored of pool i come here. This site will never be as big as pool as pool is alot easier and quicker to play, when i know i have alot of time i'll pop on here for a few games, if i don't know what i'm doing i'll be on pool.

Plus I'm an FJ (forum junkie) on funkypool, our forums are a happy and friendly place.

maybe rubbishing was a little too stonger word, but look at the insinuations in this post of placing pool over snooker!

EDIT: Johnny you are a dilluded man, brighteyes is totally correct that this site is put down by pool, and in the quoted post it is clear that you as a pool user are doing exactly the same lmao

I never said your forum was unfriendly. And it's just my opinion that are based on the facts i've seen so far that snooker will not be as big as pool. I'm not saying it's no better, i like both games the same.

Let me explain this further for those who don't understand.

What i'm saying is, the easier a game is, the more people it will attract. Hence the Pro games on Funkypool being deleted, even though people liked them, the newer versions are both easier and quicker to play. Is everyone understanding what i'm saying now? It wasn't an attack against Snooker.

I think maybe you read into things a little too much. I can't see anything there that might otherwise suggest me being nice. My point was that alot of members on here would of come from pool. I reckon it could be more than 70%, although i don't know if anyone could ever verify it.

Johny1, Obviously you prefer funkypool better than snooker, so why not go back on it instead of basically advertising pool? By saying this snooker users will leave to try pool rather than 'bringing more to snooker' . You arnt helping the cause are you?

that is negative for this site. Also, the fact that we come from pool and stay here is clear that we have found a site that we prefer, most users on here probably are ex-pool but they prefer this site so have stayed

That is my point, i am trying to help. My point was that you aren't so welcoming to people from pool. You keep backing me up to. I'd say i prefer to play snooker as a game. I however use the forum more on funkypool. I haven't 'rubbished' this site once in our debate. Yet on the other hand.......

I am saying i use both sites, i 'prefer' neither one or the other as i see them both the same.

I doubt many would be so condescending to me as you have been. I think i will leave now, as i think i've proven a valid point. I would also like another moderators input on here, i think most of the statements have been both sweeping and unfair.

well johny1 i admitted that 'rubbishing' was too a stonger word, and no help at all is coming fromt his debate in trying to bring more users to snooker. the site and members on here openly welcome pool users as long as they abide by the rules which a clear few do not. Now lets get more people trying to get to use this site rather than debating which 1 is better

yes your original one that initiated this argument. I personally think all of my statements are reflected by many snooker users. This site including me welcomes any users that follow the rules. Pool has a reputation for many numpties and you know it, as i said lets get on with getting more people to join the site rather than aimlessly argueing over who said what and which site is better.

EDIT: what point exactly have you proven? Your opinions to me seem to be contradicting themselves.

You should work for the sun with that edit. :-O

However you are right, this is not helping so shall stop here.

People should play Snooker more, it's great fun!

I shall advertise it at college.

Johny1 has a good point about users being 'put off' buy the more professional aspects of the game. Look at snooker for example, most people would prefer to play arcade then they would original snooker because it has a quicker learning curve, hence more people wanting to play because they are better at it.

A lot of users from pool come over to play arcade snooker because it has a similar difficulty and format as that of US and UK pool. Before arcade snooker was introduced, the site was not near as busy as it is now. So yes, a large percentage of users IMO are originally from funkypool which is a good thing.

I think a great idea would be to have more in game advertising on Funkypool. Also, if any of you guys/gals have myspace or bebo (and whatever else kids use nowadays) you could advertise it on your page.

Word of mouth is best though, if you really wanted to help the cause, you could make a few leaflets and hand them out around school, although i dunno if Nick would agree to this.

Johnny1 referred to "you guys/gals" meaning snooker users. Very decent of him to insinuate most snooker users are adults

There is a simple fact to this.

I remember very well when every snooker user was a pool user. We came over with the same login details and all.

Apart from having a bigger userbase to start with, pool is bound to be more popular due to being simpler to learn and quicker to play. As i said before, i prefer origional snooker, yet i'll happily accept it will always be the least popular game.

Popular isnt better remember!

The problems on pool, problem users that is, comes from it's success. Ten times more users means ten times more "numpties" (very tame name obviously!)

Enjoy the peaceful chat and forums (apart from this thread obviously! LOL!) - snooker is always gaining users, and with them come the pests...
