Well then by all fairness you are wrong, everyone has a look at there opponents rank before starting a game. A 900 plus well never welcome a 600 rank again and again, its human nature to be competitive.

Nope, it’s being blown out of proportion. The simple fact is it makes sense to play others at a similar rank. Iv already explained myself on this thread on several occasions. But since its being ignored I’d like you to take a different perspective.

- Why cant small companies participate in the stock Exchange market, amongst blue chip companies?
- Why do boxers have to be in a specific weight class in order to fight?
- Why do we have different divisions in the football league?

wrx. i dont understand the personal attacks. i am speaking for all the higher ranked players. havent you noticed you are the only one asking for this? does that not say something? - the fact is there are an awful lot of virtuoso players on snooker and if you want to play someone of similar rank it is easy just to join a game or make one with a name like "900 plus please"

That is complete rubbish. you may find it acceptable not to welcome a okayer with lower rank, but most people i know are polite and happy to play anyopne.

the ranking calculation system takes care of the difference so there is no reason not to play.

i am all for progress, and progress would be removing the disrimination so that everyone can play. you are looking for a way to discriminate, and you already can as you say yourself

Iv come to a stage where I’m going to be copy and pasting a lot. Since majority of the questions are already answered. Either people haven’t read and jump to conclusions or they can’t read carefully enough. So here we go:

Guys people are allowed to disagree with you, you need to see both sides of an arguement, there is not just one view point here.

It is my belief that we should stick to what we have, in my opinion everybody, no matter what rank they may be should have the oppertunity to play whoever they desire. It seems to me that you are the minority here as everybody seems to be ok with the current set up, or are happy to join games.

Just having a quick look there are plenty of games saying 850 plus, 900 plus etc.. so just join one of them.

Now before we start quoting the whole of my post and ripping it apart remember, we are expressing our views here, if people dont agree then fine, but respect peoples opinions without saying they are childish etc..

I'm sorry if i caused any fuss here. I was seeing only one viewpoint being expressed and i didnt like the idea of myself along with many of my mates, and the many other polite players who are higher ranked being "tarred with the same stick"

i have read all your posts wrx, very carefully, and some of the things you said were simply not in line with what i have seen and experienced through the years. the number of "over 900" etc games, as pointed out by 2good, further proves the point.

i saw somewhere that there are over 30000 members here now. the fact that only a few ever post about this issue shows that the majority enjoy things as they are.

there were a few suggestions here, the invite system and being able to see peoples rank before joining <without having to go to their profile> which do what you want without hindering others from playing as they do now.

surely compromise is the best way forward.

I agree that bringing in a system that helps such people as _wrx_ and funkyjess but does not hinder those who want to play the 1st player to enter a room would be welcome. I guess at the end of the day it is down to Nick and what he sees fit to add to the site, if he thinks this is the best way to help the site grow and increase our in game experience then ultimately he will include it in any future updates that may be coming.

Indeed comprimese and respect for other peoples opinions is the best way forward, so people put your handbags back over your shoulders

Please try to keep the quotes and answers chronoligical _wrx_, changing the order of something to change the meaning doesn't do any good when you want to argue your case

Regarding leagues, yes, official leagues and tournaments based on rank have been discussed and will be along in the future.

Untill then, visit the events forum and if you can't find a league that fits your preferences, feel free to run your own based on any criteria you see fit.
