Shows how car safety has come along in the past decade or so though. Drivers have died in much less serious crashes in the past.

Past week has shwon how nasty Motorsport can be with this happening earlier and Henry Surtees unfortunate accident and death.

Hopefully Massa makes a speedy recovery (No Pun Intended) as i have always liked him as a person and as a driver!
I am made up for Lewis Hamilton, he has had a troubled season so far with his car not performing how it should be but in that race (especially in the second half) the car and him were performing really well!

Michael Schumacher is not ruling out the possibility of standing in for injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.

The Brazilian fractured his skull in Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying and may be out for the rest of the year, while Schumacher, 40, is a Ferrari adviser.

Michael Schumacher will make a shock return to Formula 1 to replace injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.

The seven-time world champion retired at the end of 2006 but will drive at the European Grand Prix on 23 August.

Ferrari said the 40-year-old will stand in for as long as Massa is sidelined by the serious head injuries he sustained in Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying.

"For team loyalty reasons I can't ignore this unfortunate situation," said the former Ferrari driver.

Doesn't surprise me. Ferrari probably already knew it would be unlikely Schumacher would be fit to race following the injuries he recieved following a motorcycle accident earlier this year.

The phrase 'Publiciy Stunt' comes to mind.


Anyway. The break is almost over and i'm looking forward to the remiander of this season. Hopefully the Mclaren's are back and competing and Button can maintain his lead in the Drivers Chmapionship.
