why isnt rage or kaison jonny, all the people above seem to be saying just the people from wayyyyy back. who werent as good as most of the top players these days.

well they're just the players who have managed to give me a nice good thrashing at one stage or another, im not here long enough to know who's a "legend" or not so i just named some of my toughest opponents that ive played.

Actually, since big breaks were so rare back in those days it was amazing how consistantly the great players back then could make centuries and such like. IMO people like steve and the_crusade were among the best I have ever seen on this site, and would still be the best if they were around today. Also I'd like to mention _spursjay_. The greatest player ever to play on this site I would say. I dont think most the 'new school' players appreciate how good he was. Sure he has fantastic stats, but back then there was no zoom and only about 8 original centuries had been made by seperate people, and at that time Jay had 14 of them! He has earned legendary status whereas I think Mike(and i agree), has the opinion of all us lot have to get nearer that quality before the 'newer' guys can be called legends

Jay, i won't take anything away from spursjay's stats but original snooker had a lot of poor players back in his days, that would of boosted his win % a lot. I never played Jay but his half's and century's per game isn't that good. For me damee would beat Jay 5-0 (fact)!

So to say "he is the greatest player to ever play on this site" is well over the top, put him in a match v's damee or sean_paul or n_e_r_d and he would have no chance (fact)!

Frames today can go either way, frames 18 months ago meant if you were good you had the frame in the bag.

Sorry for interrupting but i had to get that out.

You can't say that for fact, damee would have never got his 147 without zoom and hes told me that himself!

As for him being the greatest player ever to grace the site is correct in a way however I think there are too many greats to depict just one, although he is very high in the pecking order.

I think it's a fact.

Also he is well off being the best to grace the site! Just cause he has good stats that doesn't mean anything. Have you ever played him mike? If not you cant judge him in my opinion! Who ever has played him and think he is the best to grace the game then fair enough.
