How can you say that ? Theres no way we know howd good he would be. Look how goo he was then, he'd have only got better and better like every other player has!

Well, i'd rather have damee's stats than Jay's.

Absolutely no doubt spurs was and still is a legend on original snooker. I did play him back when he was around and at his best, nveer beat him but that was before i was any good on this site.

Just a little point aswell (which makes to difference of my opinion of him) is that he did reset several times before he got them stats.

And as mike pointed out earlier, i do believe i would not have a 147 without zoom, even though i am improving without it.



The thing is, at the moment im on a laptop (always have been for funkysnooker) and at the moment not using zoom. Also yeah mark will get a 147 soon, i was his opponent for the 140 and it was a fantastic break!

Now i don't use zoom for 2 main reasons. Firstly i had a bad couple of days, got annoyed and decided to try without and knocked a couple of cents without zoom. Also im sick of people moaning about people using zoom. People use it because they can. There is no rule against it and i don't see any problem with using it. Many people use it and have come to me wondering how to get it. All the elite players have never moaned about zoom, they have just got on with it and played their own way.

People have trouble playing orig because the balls are more square without zoom but using zoom solves this problem. That's the same for me until i tried out opera and it seems fine.

Play however you want, at the end of the day, people use it, nothing against using it and if you believe your at a disadvantage by not using it, then why don't you use it?

Oh and also, what if people using bigger montiors that others, won't that be a disadvantage to other that have smallers monitors?

Anyway i do believe that if spurs was around still, he would still be competing with everyone and probably would have a maximum, but in the end he's not around at the moment and doesn't, so you can't make a judgement on that can you?

I'm not being big headed or anything like that but if you compare my stats with _spursjay_'s mine are a touch better and he reset many of times this is my first account that i have played original "properly" i have always been an arcader, i was 75% after 150 games on original now i am 90%.

I have more cents than Jay
I have more half's than Jay
I have more tourny wins than Jay
I even have more abandon games than him:P
Plus i have played less games than him

So to call him the best on the game is a touch over the top, i admit i am behind damee, sean_paul and i now think am behind n_e_r_d so were does spursjay stand... about 5th?

Jay has always been a legend on this site for what he has achieved, but he deactivated, we have a new king of original and that's damee, 1 147 is outstanding but having 5 and all them other centuries, that's world class, zoom or no zoom

I think that was better than spursjay's even when he was at his best. Thing is in everything you do there will be someone that is better than you, and i think jay knew this

I think moaning about zoom is stupid cause you cant really moan if somebody has a large monitor and in my opinion zoom helps only a bit compared to a big monitor. I know that cause used to play on laptop but now have a 24" monitor.

What comes to the legends I think people shouldnt whine about someone elses opinions. I dont think legend even means purely the best and comparing someone who used to play with someone who playes at the moment isnt wise. When I started here 2 1/2 years ago the game wasnt the same. If I recall correctly there were no custom cursor (the circle around the cross) or atleast I didnt know about it then. Aiming with only the cross is very difficult.

Not going to make a list of legends but trickshot would be one of them and I think he might be the best player ever without a cent on original cause it was that hard to make cents back in the days and he was maybe the best at that time. And damee with his maximums in original belongs to my list ofcourse.

_spursjay_ was the greatest Original player of his time. Damee is the greatest Original player of his time.

Discussing who is better is like discussing whether George Best or Cristiano Ronaldo is better. They were both arguably the best players of their time, however when Best played, the game was harder with less rules to protect players.

When _spursjay_ played, the game was harder due to there being no access to zoom. When you're playing with different difficulty levels, its hard to decide who was better.

Also, when _spursjay_ was around, there was no custom cursor, making it immensely more difficult to get one century, never mind fourteen of them.

And didn't _spursjay_ manage to hit over 50 Original half centuries in one day, without the use of the custom cursor?

Who here was saying a 147 is impossible without zoom?

Just been reading through and noone has actually mentioned me in this 147 talk and how I don't even use zoom. But then thats just me been big headed

I also saw the stuff about _spursjay_. I've played him before, original and arcade. And I can tell you, if he was here today. Me, Ste, and Damee would have a tough time beating him.

Ste, when you said about how original had poor players back in Spursjay's day, meaning his percentage would be high, thats like saying Boz_lad wouldn't of had that many centuries if there weren't as many good players. Right?

Well i take your word for it lyle, if your saying you and damee would have had a tough time beating him then fair enough he must of been good! And i played boz_lad and he was good but not the best iv seen.

A perfect example of how poor the players were back in Steven's days, Steven dominated snooker in his days, he is a day to day player now a days, and has a username now and is also on here most days. His stats are:

For me you have top players on this site but there is only 1 legend and thats Sean_Paul, reason?

Astonishingly he is 13 years old!
He is one of the best (behind me) at arcade, and is the toughest opponent i have ever faced on this site!

He is also one of the best at original, hitting a 147 without zoom. His video's were top class!

Lets be honest if it wasn't for his top video's i can tell you i would not have a century on original now, and along with a few others. His video's give everyone self belief that they could hit one, including me.

So overall, he is a legend for his overall play and attitude for a 13 year old lad.

Well to be fair, I drew 1-1 with him on original and beat him 2-0 on arcade. But he was still very good, I was just having a good day on arcade.

I have never zoomed, im on a small screen aswell! that means i feel as though im in a small minority of players that have hit 130+ without zooming, does zooming make it easier? yes, of course it does, but at the end of the day, zoom or no zoom, 147s = greatness, just hope i can be the 1st non zoomer to make 1
