The scroll bars have been disabled from the game page.

Allowing adverts to be hidden on a page certainly breaks the terms for the advertisement if left to continue would lead to the advertisers pulling the plug.

Remember if you see the status bar with the zoom option it's taking unnecessary space. Disable it as described here:

Screenshot of what i mean, as you notice on the screenshot I can't scroll down to select games rooms and i also cannot see the chat when the zoom is on this size. Incidentally, the 119% zoom size is the only size which allows me to play original in it's fullest of qualities. :)

People have been zooming and scrolling for years.

Great, just reduce the window size slightly to suit your display. Actually I wish to add some code which will remember the placing and size of your window and open it the same way next time.

Wouldn't kill it just wouldn't line your pocket.

Bit harsh, would you run something that lost you money? Cos without adverts that would happen, or the game will be closed down.

How do you think the server fees are paid? And if I wanted to line my pocket there's much better ways than working on this at 8:30pm on a Friday night (I'm BST+1). I've given years of my time because I've enjoyed it.

Unfortunately adverts are necessary to fund the service because of the current revenue system. Deliberately hiding the adverts is worse than not showing the adverts at all - the potential impact is worse. In fact if I knowingly allowed it to continue it would basically be fraud on my behalf.

I would love to not have the need for advertising; this is why I've started a thread regarding other revenue streams (premium users thread).

Rules me out of playing original ever again!

Learn to play without zoom.. like all the great Original players of the past did. Seriously, everybody in this topic is acting like the world has come to an end. Players such as _spursjay_ and kappostravo learned to play without zoom, so I'm sure you all can as well.


Nick, is F11 still able to be used? The only thing this hides are the address bars and the heading at the top of the page, adverts are still in view. I imagine there isn't a problem with users clicking F11 to zoom?

I didn't mean that in a nasty way nick, as your commitment to this site is immense.

If it means paying to get the scroll back etc.. then get the payment structure in place so we can get it up and running. Cause this will effect a lot of users playing original and may force people off the site.

Is there anyone who plays original without zoom ??

EDIT: really zoom shouldn't be necessary as the game has scaling functionality in-built, it auto sizes to fill the space upto a quite large amount.
