They deserve to be winning, no doubt about that. Though the thing is, they only deserve to be winning 1-0 as that's the only fair goal that they have scored.

Oh yeah, that's why I said there is no doubt about it. But when I said that they were winning 3-0, and in my eyes two of the goals shouldn't have stood. And wether they had dominated or not, if a team is 1-0 up then they only deserve to be 1-0 up unless they've been hard done by by the referee. The only stat that counts is the goals. Confused myself, but you get what I mean?

What game was you watching?

It was a clear handball, it hit under his shoulder and you could clearly see him raise his arm towards the ball. Torres did absolutely nothing to knock Pepe over this rubbish about running at speed when being touched can knock you over is rubbish... it is garbage the media pull out when ronaldo/gerrard/etc... take a dive, if you were running for a bus and I did that to you, am sure you would be able to stay on your feet.

Gerrard scored a class goal showing how class he is and then to add insult to injury Drossena bagged himself a goal.

Lets be quite cear, 5-0 overall flatterd Madrid, only their keeper kept any sort of respect.

Why in this country do we hate winners? We've just beat the most sucessful club in the world 5-0 on aggregate, yet still people feel they must belitttle out achievements. Really frustrates me.

Plus, if anyone watched the game, that is what Anfield can be like, shame we don't see it in the league to often.

Nobody wants Liverpool from Barca to United in the Champions League, there is something about that atmosphere that just makes opposition players freeze. Anfield surely has to be the unltimate fortress in Europe?
Hope we get Munich next... 12-1 on aggregate the won lol

How on earth did Liverpool win 4-0? Real Madrid were the better side by a mile! Grrr hate Liverpool!!!



In all seriousness Liverpool dominated and should of won by more. Good week all round for Mersyside!

Arsenal will go through, am thinking 2-1 united tonight, hope its 1-1 though, 1-0 united till the 93rd then a goal from Cambiaso or some other obscure player, and mourinho goes dancing down Old Traffords touchline again, it would complete a good week.

Mike, thats a dcent bet, but I think you could fall on porto V A. Madrid.

Surely the question should be what game were you watching? It didn't hit under his shoulder, it hit his shoulder; that isn't hand ball. So what if his hand moved towards it, it's a natural movement when you move your body that way. The simple fact is that it wasn't a hand ball.

The reason that I said they deserved to be winning 1-0 at that time was because they had scored two fair goals, and goals are what make teams deserve victories.

If you're leaning back with one foot off the floor and you get pressure put on your shoulder thats going to put you even more off balance isn't it?

And a clear Gerrard dive about 5 minutes in on the edge of the area and a 'tug' on Carragher were penalised against Inter. The tug involved as much, or even less than what was done on Pepe. The referee froze, because of (As you said), the Anfield atmosphere.

I'm not saying that you didn't dominate and deserve to win in that respect because of course you did, just if the goals came around a bit fairer and a way in which they would have the other way around it would have been better.

That penalty would not have been given to Inter, and the 'foul' would more than likely have also been given had it been the other way around.

Well after looking at it again i would say that the contact hit top of shoulder so not a penalty, the way his arm moved towards the ball obviously fooled the lino.

Stupid thing to say. One liverpool didn't exactly cheat so it was "fair" as you put it... we didn't exactly pay the officials. If it was the other way around of course they would of got the decisions. At the Burnebau (or however you spell it) we had tons of free kicks which were not given on the edges of their box.

If you watch a game like that and know the tiniest thing about football, you would know that Liverpool were going to score more than 2 goals if them two were disallowed/not awarded, as we would of carried on pressing, and wouldn't of took of Gerrard and Torres. The fact we go 4-0 up on agg after 50 mins, the game is dead. We sit off, and take players off for Utd.

It's like a cycling race, it doesn't matter when Chris Hoy decided to go for the finish line, he would of got there by exactly the same margain, just not as quickly.

On another note, well done to United, not going to be childish enough to say they didn't deserve it cos if the crossbar was an inch higher, and the post an inch thinner then they would be out, cos am no that petty. Credit where its due

There's no need to question Liverpool's four goals against Real Madrid. The Reds gained the upper hand in the first leg and took control of the second with an early goal by Torres followed by a penalty. Gerrard bagged the third and the uphill battle was too steap to climb. The Madridistas gave it their best shot until the final whistle, but Dossena put the nail in the coffin with Liverpool's fourth.

With almost a quarter hour gone by, Pepe tried to clear the ball which reached Kuyt, who put it on a silver platter for Torres to steer into the back of the net. Real Madrid were unable to exploit the flanks. Robben was shadowed all night and Higuain couldn't avoid Mascherano and Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool were in complete control despite allowing Madrid to possess the ball. The Whites overtook the midfield with Xabi Alonso now on the bench but were unable to produce any results. They stood tall until the final whistle despite having their hearts ripped out and being eliminated from the Champions League.

Sums it up for me, don't know why am getting into a discussion on if we deserved to win 1-0 2-0 3-0 4-0 5-0

As far as am concerned we did, and 5-0 flattered Real, who are IMO a far better team than Inter Milan, who have no star players what so ever.

That Ibrahmivic is a complete joke, always said it, yet people say hes one of the best players in the world etc etc.. he looks disinterested and cannot hack it against the big boys. Prefer Vorinin

It wasnt a penalty but that doesnt really matter liverpool dominated with or without the pen.

Mike, I didn't say Liverpool cheated either, I see football as the team that scores the goals deserves to win, except if they're scored in a way that shouldn't have come around (And vice-versa). Of course Liverpool could have won by more, but they didn't, so the score line they get they would deserve and does reflect the performance, but definitely the way that the second, and possibly the way that the first goal came about, could be seen as they shouldn't have come.

Maybe you would have scored other goals had you not scored those two, and you would still have won.

I honestly don't think that penalty would have been given had it been that it was Carragher's, Skrtel's shoulder or other Liverpool player's shoulders the penalty would have been given though. There must have been doubt in the linesman's mind, because it obviously wasn't a penalty and you could see that on the TV view first time round, but with the pressure of the fans, it was given.

Newcastle in deep trouble now though, especially with Blackburn winning. I'm thinking more and more that we're going down.

yes defo 6 pointer there, prob be a 1-1 draw,

with the champions leage, no arguments really we shouldnt be bickering, 4 english teams in the quarters again and no italians,

but on a funnier note wasnt the penalty shootout for arsenal the worse selection of pens ever made from both sides
