I've added carom billiards to funkysnooker. Currently it's practice mode only.

Rules

Three-cushion carom is a game played with two cue balls, one red ball and a table with no pockets. The aim is to score a greater number of points than your opponent by connecting with both balls and three or more cushions before the second ball is hit (and without hitting the first ball again before hitting the second ball).

It's a very tough game that will teach you about the angles of the table.

This page gives a nice demonstration.

Turn on additional stats under options to see how many hits you make.

Averaging 50% is professional level.

60% is world class.

I'm aiming at 33%.

Thanks Nick- Great addition

Have you got any idea when being able to compete with other members will be introduced for it?

There is proof, it's impossible

My view on the new carom - it's very very hard you need a good brain to play it. It could take a while to complete a game as you could take a while to figure your shots out.

I'm unsure whether i like it or not.

Yes it's a VERY tough game. I may allow a list of different rules for people to play. Any billiard players out there?

best percentage after 10 shots is 20% lol
i think that it is 3 cusions after you hit the other balls .. on this u can aim at cusion and it counts as 1 cusion hit

The ball graphics are created dynamically in billiards. This means they shouldn't appear sqaure/octagon like they sometimes can in arcade. How would people feel about using the same graphics for arcade and original? (Obviously not the patterned cue ball).

Andy, that's correct, watch the animation in the carom cafe link.

I think it's fine as it is, you have created that table perfect, if only it was easier....

yeah i think making the arcade balls 'dynamically' will be better in arcade. as it seems the new felt makes my balls smaller and alo a bit jaggy. so im using the old felt still.
