Torres is so amazing on the ball you give him 6 inch of space he turns it into 6 yards then he scores, he is better under pressure always keeps his cool, Rooney does still stuff like looses his temper alot aand that throws his game out of the window he can score and yes he is a generally good player but if I was to pick 1 o them to be a striker would be Torres (Hes not just the best in the Prem hes one of the best in the world)

I obviously think this too but heres a tricky one can you think of a striker better then torres ?

Torres would deffinatly be in the world 11.

Torres at Atl. Madrid was highly overrated. Now he seems to have proven his class. On current ability. Also you get more goal threat from Torres, but from Rooney you get a moment of magic that only he could do. Chip against Pompy in FA Cup for example!
Although I am a united fan, and would choose Rooney any day, last seasons stats favour Torres!

Just to add Rooney's current form is amazing, not only is he a striker, but he tracks back and defends, unlike Torres. Rooney truly is a quality performer.

I think its hard to judge the two players without judging the teams they play for. United create many more chances than Liverpool and are better going forward. Therefore you would imagine that Rooney should score more.

They are also different sorts of players, Rooney plays much deeper than Torres, who is an out and out striker.

There is no doubt that Torres is more clinical and more composed.

Torres could have had two assists today, there is more to his game than scoring goals, he doesn't get credit for his other abilities.

This is pretty much exactly what I think about it as well, of the two I would take Torres over Rooney pretty much any day

i think that both of them ahve there qualities, torres is obviously skilled on the ball, creates space out of nothing, rooney has power, he goes back and defends whereas torres tends not as much if at all. There both excellent strikers, but if I had to pick one, i would go for rooney!!! but both amazing players tho without a doubt torres atm though is on better form!

Oh dear Rooneys been having lessons from Ronaldo on the art of the dive. However he still has a lot to learn, Ronaldo had a player sent off, and Rooney got nothing.

At least he has aplogised though... according to fergie anyway...
