Hi, thanks for the great feedback and support everybody
I have uploaded Version 1.6 which fixes a couple of minor issues:
1) On rare occasions, the number of games edit incorrectly invalidates values over 999 - Fixed
2) The username history and default values for the match settings are cleared on reboot on NT based systems - Fixed
If you are not sure which version you have downloaded, the system menu (accessed by clicking on the program icon on the title bar) contains a menu item to bring up an 'About' box.
Thanks again everybody

Just to let you know that there is Version 1.7 available.
The only changes are that a user profile refresh button has been added and (in keeping with the Christmas spirit) the site link button logo has been updated to incorporate (losely) luckypot and flapjack's (for pool) logos. These logos are only active during the month of December, after which they revert back to the originals.

Cheers guys - appreciate your comments.
To reflect the great changes Nick has just made, I have updated the program to Version 1.9 - unfortunately you will have to download the new version as there have been minor changes in the profile page HTML which means earlier versions will not load the profile data.
(That is why it has apparently jumped from Version 1.9 from 1.7 - I had uploaded version 1.8 before noticing the fault )

Hi, just 1 little thing, it shouldn't let you put the same username for both players should it?

I thought of that at the outset and it is a very simple piece of code to implement. I decided against it because this is a 'What if...?' type of program and disallowing it would disallow the possiblity of someone wanting to know "What if I were to play someone of exactly the same rank and experience as myself?".
You could, of course, exactly replicate your statistics using manual input but I thought it would be easier just to let the user play a match against themselves.
I hope this clarifies why it is the way it is.
Edit: Typo

The current version will not calculate the rankings correctly due to Nicks recent update
( http://www.funkysnooker.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=4882 ).
This will not be corrected until the New Year when I get back off my Christmas Holidays.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused

Hi just got back from my hols and made the necessary changes to the program to cater for the new updates.
Just as a reminder, the links are:
The FunkySnooker executable is available here:
http://www.daveehughes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Downloads/FunkySnookerRankingCalculator.exe
A FunkyPool version is available here:
http://www.daveehughes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Downloads/FunkyPoolRankingCalculator.exe
Or if you prefer, a Zip Archive containing both versions is available here:
http://www.daveehughes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Downloads/FunkyRankingCalculators.zip
(Note: there haven't been any significant changes to the Funkypool version since the last release apart from some "future proofing" picked up from the FunkySnooker version)
While I'm here Happy New Year to everybody!

You should'nt have brought up an old thread.
Did you not notice that this thread was 5 months old? In future dont post on threads that are more than a couple months old.

He had a legitimate query about the very topic this thread was made for. Instead of telling him not to post on a thread thats a couple months old, we should be encouraging people to use the search option, like he did.
Lovej007, I'm not sure if this can be integrated into the game, however I don't see any real use for it.

His first post: i love this calculator.
Two days later: would it be possible for this to be integrated into the game somewhere?
So his first post was not legitimate Dave, you see?

crumbs. im sorry youngjeezy. i got told about the calculator on a seperate thread about the ranking system, buddytobud sent me a link to this thread so i commented on it. why does it matter how old it is anyway? and why was my first post not legitimate? and how does writing both posts out show the first one to be illegitimate?
thank you iamtheworst for actually answering my question. i find it useful because before i play someone i can see how many ranking points would be on the line. i thought it was quite neat as well.

Buddytobud sent you the link so you could use the claculator on the first page of this thread. Not to comment on the thread.
And we dont post on threads that are months old, for they get put into the archive after being 6 months old. And posting on a 5 month old thread just clutters up the forum.
