Nothing to do with the price of eggs, but quite a lot to do with the poster aboves question.

Is he better than the last so called wonder-kid flop of the same name already at Liverpool?

Can a striker be considered better than a holding mid?

So Lucas Souza is not better than Lucas Leiva in midfield.

Simple stuff this mate.

His position has nothing to do with whether he'll be a flop or not

Christ mate, this isn't complicated stuff I am saying.

He said "is he better than the last so called wonder-kid flop of the same name already at Liverpool?

My point was pretty simple to be honest: That they cannot be compared, because they are completely different players, with different roles in the team.

Though I think maybe this is a bit complicated for you?

Moving on from that - he is supposed to be a very good player, who we will be seeing a lot of in the future - next world cup.

that was exactly the point I was getting at!

Nothing to do with position! merely making a joke at the fact the previous Lucas (Leiva, i believe) was hyped up massively as the next big thing and was nowhere near it! Not in his first few seasons anyway! Yes he was liverpools player of the year this year, i am not remotely interested in that.

I didnt want a big debate, just a bit of a chuckle that was all.

I like you Mike, but you really do take things too seriously when it comes to Liverpool

Mike is a very bias Liverpool fan... Scratch that, he is just a Liverpool fan. :p.

I'm so happy everyone else is wasting their money on medium'ish players. But I still have my fears of something like "Chelsea sign Michael Owen for 30m" or something of the nature.

Really don't want Modric, I don't think he is even that much better than Yuri Zhirkov, and I have watched the both play a lot. If Modric was to come to chelsea (which if redknap stays, he won't) I wouldn't spend a penny over 15m.

This Anderlecht Striker is held in such high regards but omfg? What on earth are we looking at a striker for lmao!! Drogba, Nando, Anelka and Sturridge? Why are we bidding for players... With no manager? It doesn't feel right to me. Chelsea need a guy who can cross, dribble and assist. A wide player. Kalou and Malouda didn't even have 10 assists between them last season. Its disgusting. No point having 5 strikers if we can't give them service ffs.

We need an Arjen Robben/Messi/Ronaldo type player and I struggle to think of any that are available. Get one of them and we are good.

I hear Bayern Munchen have offered for Alex. I like Alex, but. Alex and 10m for Robben or Ribery? :D

I don't think he will and I really don't want him to. He isn't liked much and I think he is underrated. He is without a doubt one of the best strikers in the game right now and I want him nowhere other than in Chelsea's strikeforce. His power, touch, control, eye for goal, freekick and set piece ability, his heading and aerial ability... He's just everything you want in your forward.

Love the Drog! Hopeee he stays!! :D

He has lost a bit of that hasnt he? Maybe lost a yard of pace too?

I thought he was a quality striker but I think he is a bit passed it now

Confused to be honest, you asked if he would be better than the last Lucas (or something like that) other than their first names they have nothing in common.

I happen to think Lucas Leiva hasn't flopped at Liverpool, so I will happily say that.

Anyhow! The fella isn't even leaving Sao Paulo so meh! Was just paper talk.

I don't take Liverpool too seriously at all IMO. If I didn't enjoy talking about them then I wouldn't.

You will find many more Liverpool supporters more serious than me, some even go to the games!

I take my Rugby League team, way more seriously. Follow them all around the country, I just don't show it on here, where nobody even knows the difference between the two codes (or even that there is 2 codes) so I'd be wasting my time

I know the difference between the two codes

I just choose to ignore your preferred code because I prefer the other because its better IMO

And its not that long ago that liverpool fans were losing the plot because Lucas was playing dreadful! Two seasons ago maybe. I cant remember exactly! I do remember hearing about him when he moved to them first though and he wasnt anywhere near as good as he had been made out to be.
That being said I had not followed him this season so have no idea how well he played.
Liverpool were poor though for alot of the season so him being the best player cant say much

Derry, Lukaku is 18. He is for the next 10 years. Anelka, Drogba, and Nan.... Ladyboy are aproaching a certain age. Especially Anelka and Drogba.

I think more than ever, younger players are being targeted rather than superstars now. Like anything though, with high demand comes higher prices, so much so, you'd be lucky to sign an unproven Belgian league teenager for under £20M.

I'd hate to have a small budget in the window this time around, the bargains don't seem to be there.

Liverpool are trying to buy English players, and as such are paying massive amounts. Henderson £16M for example, and we have just been quoted £20M for Stewart Downing. :O

Not a fan of chase the Egg. 3 points for a drop goal, no tries scored, lets kick at goal instead nonsense!

Also I must confess I never wish to see Lucas win that award ever again, hopefully it will be Suarez/Carroll/Gerrard in the next few years! Yeah we were poor, but I defy anybody to finish top 4 under Woy Hodgson AKA The Owl.

Everybody is different

The one thing I dont like about liverpool is how short the memory is. Two examples in the last few posts.

Torres was a god, he moved and now he is hated. Personally I never really rated him, when he was at liverpool or now that he is at chelsea. I just didnt see it. I thought he wasnt near as good as he was made out to be. Yeah he was good there was no denying that but he was just injured too much.

And Roy Hodgson, brought Fulham to the Uefa cup final and was heralded as a great manager and the saviour of liverpool and then was turned on!

I feel like I am picking on liverpool but i am not. I am really only an armchair fan of football, I dont really follow any team. I regularly switch the team I like. I used to follow Man U back when Keane, Beckham, Giggs, scholes were in full flow. I liked Arsenal when Viera, Henry, Berkhamp (thats not spelled correct is it?) were playing. I also liked Bolton when Big Sam was managing. They are all around the same time. I liked watching Anelka at City. Chelsea when hasselbank, Flo and zola were playing.

I just tell it as I see it Egg chasing is more my style. Better than 3 fellas pinning another to the ground and wriggling around over and over again. WWE with a ball

Roy Hodgson was never welcome at Anfield.

Those who knew anything about football and Liverpool football club would never support such a mediocre dinosaur of football.

He was never given a chance, we always wanted Kenny to come in.

As for Torres, he was and is a great footballer. At Liverpool, us fans love to idolise players, and we buy into all the PR bull that players come out with. At Chelsea he is just another rich player collecting a wage in return for goals. At Liverpool he was close to legendary status, without even winning us a trophy.

The cycle has begun again now with Luis Suarez. Lets see how that one ends.

Like any other set of fans though, we don't like to see disloyalty, though we could have stomached it.

Disrespect however is unforgivable here. He had to be a little b!tch about it all, making snide remarks, then withdrawing them, then changing what he said.

We as fans don't generally have bad rapor with our old players who have left us. Xabi Alonso is still a hero here, and he left us for Madrid. He just did it in the right way and was respectful to the end.
----

Rugby League has the better athletes, is more professional and less public school boy image.

Shame we have idiots running it, who cannot promote the game beyond the north of England. Let alone Ireland! You just haven't been exposed to it enough

By the way, I presume I am talking to Dec here?

I really do not quite understand Liverpool in general. See in some areas I agree that there's loyalty to the club. But that isn't to the players individual, you only respect them because they are at Liverpool. This is why Liverpool are so distinctive to me, I can smell them. They are single handedly the most painful thing on this planet. Their talk of European success and 18 leagues and King Kenny and Stevie G and 3-0 down to Milan and blah blah, its so irritating in the way they go about it. I don't care United just won their 19th, didn't make me flintch. But that's because United fans are all very similar. They are very, want to win because then they can say "we beat you"? If that makes sense. I am not that way and either are the Chelsea fans I know.

Being a Chelsea fan is quite under the radar I feel. Due to us not having prestigious European Glory or being the biggest team in the world. United fans sort of expect themselves to win, that is why they support United and Liverpool are very braggy as well. I never hear a Chelsea fan bragging, and I know there may have not been as much to brag about but there's been enough content for sure.

What I mean with Liverpool is, its like - Carroll is alright I guess - signs for Liverpool - He is magnificent, great, predator!
Henderson is alright yeah, wouldn't get into Liverpool though. Worth about 7m - signs for Lpool - 20m?! Bargain!

Lol. That's how it always seems to me.

I like a select few of Liverpool fans who are not stuck up the newspapers crack, have my own views on players and do not take on all this crap thrown into our mouths. We go on about our history because we are brought up to look back at it and some day have the hope we can be back like we were in the 70s and 80s. Figures like KK are the likes of Sir Matt for United, Legend and always will be talked about. Anyway back to players...

Carroll - Rated him at Newcastle, brilliant championship player but was never given the hance to prove himself for a full seson in the Premiership so was a bit of a premature purhase for me as he hasn't proved to be a top 4 team player which is what we are aiming for.

Lucas - Terrible first season or so, but all last season and the last half of the season before he showed his worth and value. Don't get me wrong a year or two late but better late than never.

Henderson - Can say the only times I have seen him is the U21's and they have been some of the most boring games I have ever watched and not really been impressed, so I am still waiting.

Many people call me an "armchair supporter" not knowing my background and because I have differentviews to the vast majority of Liverpool fans who are so easily led by the media. However they obviously don't knowthat at the age of 21 I have been a season ticketholder for 16 years first getting one with my father at the age of 5.

Liverpool fans are arrogant, and immensely proud of our former glories.

Also very few of us will acccept what the London Press and BSkyB put down our throats.

As for Chelsea without trying to be argumentative or confrontational, we have no respect for them. That is just how it is. We begrudgingly respect Man United, though we will very rarely admit it.

Carroll WAS very expensive for Liverpool, but then again so was Torres for Chelsea. We had just made a £30M profit on him, and spent that on Carroll (added to the £7M sale of Babel) Nothing i have seen in Carroll suggest he was worth £35M, though I am willing to wait and see.

Henderson - his fee was undisclosed.

SKY said it was £20M, our director of football said both guestimated figures of £16M and £20M were wrong. Being undisclosed means exactly that, we have no idea how much he cost, but probably between £15-20M

Time will tell if he is worth it also. Buying 20 year old players who could turn into superstars though is probably preferable to buying 26 year old superstars at even biger prices, who will be past their peak within a few seasons.

Chelsea are stuck with an old squad, whos main players will all retire within the next 3/4 seasons.

Just when ours hit their peak hopefully

Back to transfers - all over twitter that Liverpool have agreed a fee and personal terms with Wigan for Charles N'Zogbia.

Take that with a pinch of salt though!
