My first instincts are to dislike everything to go up Liverpool but I am a changed man now!!!

I was thinking about my previous comment and for a player who did great against big teams in a team who got religated then he must have some class

I still think he is unproven in a big squad, as he was the best in a awful team but yeah put him with a big squad and think he might do something special

Carroll has barely kicked a ball for Liverpool, so I'm not about to call him an awful signing.

I'm not overly bothered about his transfer fee, only that we wanted him and we got him.

It wasn't my money and anyhow - I'd rather it spent on Carroll than to the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Carroll should be judged by performances in the coming years, certainly not on 5 games, and regardless of his transfer fee.

Charlie Adam will be an interesting signing, can he come to the Forefront in a bigger team time will tell. Carroll was outrageously overpriced by 25 million but £££ talked and Mike Ashley probably had to have surgery to finally remove his smirk off his face

Lyon coach Remi Garde is determined to keep defender Aly Cissokho at the Stade Gerland next season.

The 23-year-old full-back endured a difficult time last season for the Ligue 1 giants under Claude Puel, but Garde, who took over this summer, is keen for the Senegalese star, who is under contract with the club until 2014, to remain in France.

Liverpool are understood to have targeted the highly-rated youngster with Les Gones' officials wanting something in the region of £9million to let him leave.

Garde explained in L'Equipe: "Aly is an important player to us. But if an offer can match the chairman's plans, he could be likely to leave."

Meanwhile, Michel Bastos looks like he is set to stay with the club despite interest from clubs in Italy.

From what I hear the rumour about Joe Cole is true however the fee that is given includes his wages and other little add ons maybe so much after so many games or goals scored or percentage of next sale etc. So in reality we will be getting next to nothing if that is true. (depending on his wages etc)

yeah just realised that myself. My mate told me the rumour the other day in the pub and he got it out of context.

To be honest we should sell at whatever price, his time here has been extremely disapointing and he is effectively our highest paid player as he was given a huge signing on fee (£6M apparently)
