Its sad when members can't just wait it out for 5 mins to allow someone to finish their break.

I had a player quit on me when i was on 88 (11 reds and blacks) and all the other reds were sitting perfectly. I was gutted for days lol .

Personally i would like to see players being allowed to continue their breaks. The main reason being players that can hit big breaks wont usually be in a position to be disqualified dude to time anyway. However i can see both sides of the issue and can understand why this was implemented.

The thing is, in a normal ranked or friendly match we are allowed to finish the break. Why does it have to be different in the tournaments ? Wouldn't it be much easier to keep it the same as a normal match ?

btw, the only positive of the game ending automatically is so that the torunament goes quicker and we are not waiting on ppl to finish their break.

Thats not a good point at all. I'd wait for as long as it took if somebody had a chance of a high break.

Thats the point of snooker. Break building.

to be fair real snooker matches last hours, so were lucky ours have limits of 40 minutes etc,

i think we all know the rule should be the person breaking has choice to carry on, it would go 98% in my opinion.

also, the people that make high breaks are generally pretty quick round the table, if there there makin a high break they gotta be pretty good player so in theory it wont be every tourney that were waiting on players,

I agree with this rule it needs sorting.

I dont get many half cents so when one comes along id actually like a chance to claim it, rather than some noob finish the game when im on a 40.

Sort it out

real games do last hours but they dont have a 20 second time limit per shot or play best of 3 frames

i want this rule brought in but i hate waiting ages for players to finish games when iv finished mine or got a bye so thats why i said it was a good point above.

i wonder what the new problem will be if this ever does get introduced lol

if you were allowed continue your break there should be a button to click to end the game at any stage afterwards so that people wouldnt get disqualified, just so that you dont have get disqualified in the event that the balls didnt stop moving in time for the game to end before time ran out.
which would be a possibility but like it was said most players capable of making break would have cleared before then etc

I don't think waiting has anything to do with it.

Common curteosy suggests that if a player is on a big break we can wait.

Mind, if opponents did actually wait, then we wouldn't even have this problem.

i always wait for players to finish unless i have to leave for a particular reason and il tell em but even if that happens i just leave the window open and let myself get logged out

True. I think for now the best solution is to lock people in tournament games, making it more of a hassle for people who want to quit early.

Make them have to shut down if they want to quit.

Found this on:
http://www.china.org.cn/sports/news/2008-03/27/content_13666827.htm

Murphy fought eight frames to score a 5-3 win over Dave Harold and the eighth frame endured 93 minutes and 12 seconds, surpassing both the records for the longest televised frame and longest in snooker.

The longest televised frame is 77:31 when Mark Selby played Marco Fu in the Maplin UK Championship 2007, and the longest ever frame is 92:52 when Cliff Thorburn took Stephen O'Connor in Welsh Open qualifiers 1994.

Most Tournaments on here finish inside 90minutes.
