Hi,

I've updated the server with a number of patches.

Sound changes
Stereo sound with higher quality effects have been added. If you've got problems in Windows please check you have the latest DirectX updates.

Tournament invites
1) Invite sending had a problem
The invite was occasionally sent corrupted. This has been fixed.

2) Playing a non tournament game while waiting could cause invite acceptance to fail
If the game had just started after you accepted the invite it would show you "the game has just started" and will not allow you to leave. Now a tournament invite will always be accepted.

3) A number of people left the tournament game too early
A lot of people (especially when new to tournaments) left the game room too early (eg if their opponent didn't turn up or had logged out). If you attempt to leave a tournament game room before the game has commenced it will not allow you. In fact you'll be stuck in the room unless you actually close the game window.

Old rankings are no longer available
Removed from profile and high scores.

Forum changes
To fix a security problem we don't allow embedded videos etc. Also we're now using more friendly times eg "1 hour ago".

Please let me know if you encounter any problem.

The sounds good, take a bit of getting used to, but what doesn't. About time the ranks were gone, people living in the past for too long!

it was only last night i was playing over there and thought how glad i was we didnt have them sounds lol
i dont like the "friendly" times either they are just too vague

i noticed the spoilers opening differently late last night lol i assumed it was computer lag

glad to see the tourny invites
not so happy about the no embedding anymore since i did that nearly everyday

love that the tab tells me where i am too as james said



PROBLEM all my times say "5 days ago" including the times on all the posts in this thread and posts i left yesterday!

does this mean no more ruined breaks? or is it just until the game begins?

Sacred_Heart, regarding the friendly times - you should see the actual time when you hover the mouse over them. That's interesting about showing 5 days - the calculation is made on your machine meaning that if you set your computer 5 days in the future it would have this effect. Can you confirm you have your clock, date and timezone set correctly?

Regarding lag - if you mean delays when connecting to the server I am hoping this has been improved.

We're just locked in at the game until it commences or you're given a bye. After that point it will be as normal - so it wont affect people leaving the break.

Why remove the old high rankings? So the hard work what i done has no show for it? As am hardly on anymore that was really the only thing what stated that i was the best! :)!! Probably still am but yano..

Am sure if it was you who got the highest rank you'd keep it on!! Not a happy chappy.!.!.

very strange indeed, yes for some strange reason best known to my computer my date was set 5 days in advance *confused smiley* the clock was the correct time thats why i didnt notice. thanks nick

Ste_efc, I said I'd leave it on for a year after it was changed, but what's basically a static historic value shouldn't stay on the site indefinitely.

I think you've done well by this - it means you topped the rankings for a year without playing.

fear of lawsuits similar to on youtube a few months previously?

Yeahhh, but can't you put it on my profile or somethin? I would of topped the ranking for years to come as it was that good of a rank! Doubt it would of got beaten, personally :)! ??

Sounds is a really good upate, makes it feel more real when playing.

Apologies for the restart! Server was really busy with people downloading the new game etc, and started getting behind.

Home page been updated aswell. Do you plan to show the original and carom tables on there too?
