I have a major problem since yesterday... My browser is closing unexpectedly every time I log in... This is really irritating because all the Safari windows are shutting down, not just the Funkysnooker one and it happens only when I log in to Funkysnooker.
I've tried to open the game window 5 times in the last hour, I started 5 games and none of them was finished.. Was playing a Portuguese player, doesn't matter the username and he told me he had the same problem. This is a serious bug imo, is it just the two of us or did anyone else have the same problem..
Thanks

The sound of the balls kissing (oh yeah ) each other is alot better but when you pot it sounds dead.. like it just goes 'donk' like as it would on a pool table.
But a good improvement anyways..

Yes the sounds are all taken from a pool table, I would like to get some snooker specific sounds for here, probably just for pocketing.
Suspiria can you show me your system properties?
http://www.funkysnooker.com/help#playing_problems
It sounds like a Java fatal error - can you search your system for any error files (they will start hs_err_pid).

I had a similar hs_err_pid thingy and it was a Java error. For me it was simple I just done a system restore to a previous time.

A bit tricky for Snooker, as the sound changes significantly depending on how the ball sinks - for instance: a hard slam will produce a sound like the one you have now (as the ball hits the back of the pocket) and a roll in is basically similar to dropping a marble into bag of marbles (which I guess is more like what people were expecting).

yes i thought it was a bit "stupid" for want of a better word, that the balls sound like they are smashed into the pocket no matter what pace they are potted.
also, i get a major lag in sounds at some times. as in i pot a ball and the cueball has stopped moving before any sound occurs

That's a good point. It wouldn't be too tricky to add a sound depending on the speed it entered the pocket.

an option for deciding on which sounds you have? possible?
19:05 Thu 14 Jan 10 (GMT) [Link]
The sounds should as good as televised games of pool. If they don't there's something wrong.
It is reliant on your system though, especially DirectX for those on Windows. Press start, run and type dxdiag. On the first page there will be a panel with system information. The bottom line should reveal your DirectX version. If it sounds bad please can you investigate this.
There's no chance of old sound back I'm afraid. Java no longer maintains the old method of playing sound and these were causing a lot of problems that would never be fixed.

Your java properties:
Java version: 1.5.0_16
Java vendor: Apple Inc.
Operating system: Mac OS X
VERDICT: upgrade recommended
Hmmmmmmm...
I'll download Java again, let's see if the problem persists. By the way I really like the new sound effects now that I got used to them so well done on that aspect.
