heres a discussion for you all.

going to do a clan cup but unsure on format.

thinking 3 arc, 3 reg, 2 orig, 2 carom (not captains nominate but each game in this format)

it gives people who are ok at arcade and regular a chance as for orig players they was usually good at all types as for carom only a select few play it but it is becoming more popular.

want something different from current clan league set up

Rules no matter what -

5 v 5
1 week to play games
20-40 second shot time

please give me your ideas, ill leave it until end of this month before taking any ideas on board and making any final choices

thanks

James

Defaults

my mate has convinced me that discussion isn't a good idea because i now know what to do and i don't want the activity logs announced on the forum, and will be getting rid of the thread tomorrow morning.

I will put it on the clan league website forum however which can be found here:

james how does it work, allstarz and UT have been waiting 4 ages for subs, its ok zac saying hes busy but if he makes the change when the deadlines nearly up there still going to score points for basically nothing.

i thought thats why u had vice captains etc to help when u aint got time :S

exactly anyone can post a sub so its no excuse really but its captain and vice captains responsibility.

the way defaults work is you have in game time and browsing time (in game time is the one what counts here) and i take subs into account like deactivations, bannings etc. messages are also taken into account either by profile or post but all messages must be sent to me when the deadline for games is over (i give 24 hours here).

like mo deactivated as the fixture got brought out so hawxs would not receive any points and the other guy might not even get 6 points in case they aren't on enough.

any person refusing to play a game at all through offline messaging or by post then it could be a 6-0 result but i must see the message/post as proof, no quotes are taken as anyone could write them.

In game Time:

Logging in less than 5 times - they will only get 1 point but no more
Logging in 5-10 times - 2 points normally
Logging in 10-20 times - 3 points normally
Logging in 20+ this shows brilliant activity and based on opponents logs it could go like this:

-5 times - 5-1
5-10 - 4-2
10-20 - 3-3 or 4-2 depending on how far apart the opposition is
20+ certain 3-3 draw and locked

No activity/refusing to play

This means the opponent has not logging in at all during the fixture will get no points at all because they don't deserve it.

defaults in this case would be

-5 - 1-0
5-10 - 2-0
10-15 - 3-0
15-20 - 4-0
20+ 5-0 or 6-0

I was just thinking and it seems there aren't many clans currently playing, it also seems tough for new clans to get teams together.
There also seems to be something like 20 players for each clan?!?! That seems a hell of a lot for just 8 games in each match.

These are just some of my observations.
I'm relatively new to the site, been here a couple months, but what are the reasons for clans being so large?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not coming in and trying to get things to change but was wondering why the clans were not made up of 10 players (for example) and clan matches were 2 arcade, 2 reg, 2 orig, 1 carom. There could be more clans then.

As i was saying i'm nopt trying to change things but was just curious about a few things.

it use to be 10 in a clan with 3 subs but now its unlimited (except for clan league which is capped at 15). not sure how it changed, its been too long but 10 was better imo

Haha. How did it change, i cant remember :S

Im pretty sure every1 agreed on 12 but was finding hard to let players go..

I remember there being 8-9 clans with 3-4 of them having 20 or more players so i think we scraped the idea...

I think there should be some sort of restriction put in place to stop having clans have an unlimited amount of players but clans these days have dwindled so much and there isn't much interest anymore.

problem with snooker clans is they have no rules to them (unless you count clan league) but pool they always have a set of rules and thats why pool clans are more successful.

if we set up some rules to abide by then we could be as successful and they could be more clans here on snooker.

I really don't see why some 1 hasn't set up any rules :S

It's priority, everything needs rules.

i find clans was better with 10 members and 3 subs, in clan league at the moment with 8 playing i think 7 subs is a bit too many, possibly lower it to 12 or something?

12 has always been a good number but it didn't work last time so will it work if we try it out again?

8 players with 4 subs is plenty so i cant see it not working imo.

i think 12 is the way to go forward, if it doesnt work out i can put it back to 15 again.

got any ideas what cup format could be mate, something different from clan league, if possible.
