Dont really see why you need 15 people in a clan to play a 8 v 8 but up to you lot.

even the most reliable people can suddenly disappear for a week at a time... i dont think we can prevent clan signings throughout the season. it can make it more exciting too. the point is just to prevent multiple subs per fixture as happened this season, where a single fixture was changed twice or more by each team
with 15 people, the maximum is less than 1 sub per fixture.
since new people cant play that week, there wont be ridiculous amounts of subs

theres 8 fixtures per week,but you send in 2weeks worth of fixtures at a time.so if we only had 12 members to pick from all of the other clan members are going to miss out on a game for 2weeks

we definately having this?
this means for example i_am_god moves from hustlers to UT during the season he would not be able to play for UT at all during that season.
but for another example ab_rfc who was a free agent moves to Dollars and Cents but cannot play for that current fixture set.
the only other rule pool has which is having a 2 month rule which usually stops most of the players deactivating and re entering the league straight away, we could even lower this to a month if needed.

i dont think they should be banned from playing for the whole season if they move... maybe for 2 sets of fixtures or something. thats a month though so maybe just the set of fixtures that happens after they move.
say they move during fixture set 1.... then they miss fixture set 2 and are allowed be entered in set 3

Should only be able to play a game for 1 clan throughout whole season.
Kinda like Cup-tied players in Football.

There isnt enough people interested in clans for it to be possible to enfore that though.
Its only going to force people away from clans if they arent allowed play if they move. Or they will just deactivate and join the new clan to be allowed in.
There has to be some sort of punishment though for players leaving clans, there is 4 weeks to find the most suitable one

I think the only reason people arent interested in clans is because they only see 4/5 clans competing.
If you were to reduce the number from 15 to 12 - play pre-season friendlies to ensure the reliability of players
Have maybe another 2 / 3 clans involved then it would work fine.
Also - lack of interest is down to lack of information on clan threads.
Over in pool when the fixtures are released, every clan posts them on their thread and keeps them updated - results are also posted on clan threads so everyone knows whats going on.
The website is mainly there so people can see league tables and progress.
The clan league over here would definitely work however I think there are 2 fundamental changes needed.........
1. Dgen - Get some help hunni (especially a default team)
2. Clan Captains - Keep up to date with results and keep them posted on your thread.

PS - Also - players swapping between clans need to stop - if you are in a clan at the start of the season - it only lasts a few weeks - you should remain there - if you move - you dont play for the rest of the season - that would stop all these musical chairs - if need be in extreme circumstances - have a transfer window half way through the season to enable players to swap clans.

How you work that out?
Currently you play 6 games of whatever type your captain puts you down for. If you make it best of 3 in 'all' game types. Theres a minimum of 8 games. (if Arcade, Reg, Orig, and Carom finish 2-0)
Matches take about an hour. Thats nothing considering you have a good 2 weeks to play.
The reason why some games don't get played is because people don't make an effort to message their opponents.

also we had 1st to 3 arcade, regular and original in 1st season and it did not work out but this format does.

the reason for this is people joining tourneys etc etc - only on for 30 mins
looking at other tournaments that have been running - playing 3 frames of each seems to be the most successful
but again - only my opinion
would be nice to get your reaction though on the rest of my post as you only seemed to pick up on the number of games i had mentioned

the transfer window mid season is a good idea imo but need more voices.
defaults team been talked about before but wasn't popular.
for cup i was thinking 5 v 5, 3 arcade, 3 regular, 2 original, 2 carom then it gives people a chance who only like arcade and regular.

a cup with or 6 clans though would just be added work though - in my humble opinion you should leave the cup until the league has more clans

i dont think we are going to get many more clans tbh, pool clans are more successful than snooker, pool has like 10+ we only have 5 currently in clan league + sons of saints, i think 8 is best we can do on snooker.

It was originally changed from best of 3 in all game types to 6 games in one particular game because the scores were getting ridiculous. Players weak in regular or original were getting hammered and as a result were making no effort to play.
Quite understandable really.
As Mooney quite rightly said, the reason games arent being played now is because of lack of interest in getting the games done.
Poolers have to remember, this is snooker. To be quite honest, I think the almost fanatical involvement in clans and the strict rules on pool is rather sad. (thats my opinion and im entitled to it). Would hate to see that come in over here.
Unfortunately there is not enough good clan captains over here, not enough interest in clans and we are lucky to get as many games done as we currently do.

i dont think the pool league would have started with 10 clans though - thats why interest must be created - make ppl wanna take part - then it will grow
atm it doesnt seem to have the structure of pool - and thats why i think moving between clans - posting on threads - defaults etc etc would help bring that structure
that alone - imo - would serve to create interest
by reducing the games - even down to 4 (in the interim) should see more matches played - therefore more posts on threads - therefore more exposure - therefore more interest
by not taking players from other clans during the season should see more stability in clans etc etc
even if the numbers where 6 for next season - and ppl were constantly seeing clan threads buzzing with activity - the interest would grow
i also feel - in the interim only - that dropping the individual part would be beneficial so players are only focussed on their actual team matches - you could still have the race for the golden cue - but it would be the team matches that this would count toward
this would reduce the number of threads needed in clan league management - again, removing some of the confusion around who is playing who etc etc
ie

results, news, discussion and players waiting
then once all this is happening - adding individual, and cup would be much more easy IMO

some rules are very strict - granted - but also thats what makes it a success to a certain degree
