Lag for break

This rule is used to determine which player gets to play the opening shot. Balls of same weight and size, cue balls or non-stripe object balls are shot by both players at the same time, one from the right and other from the left of the head spot, to the foot cushion and back to the head end of the table. The ball that is nearest to the head cushion is considered as the winner. The balls shot for lagging should touch the foot cushion of the table at least once. There are various shots that are considered as loss of lag like when the ball jumps out of the table, crosses to the opponents half, falls into the pocket or touches the long side of the cushion etc.

Meaning you are not allowed to hit the side cushion, if so, that is a foul lag.

I think its unfair that the lag shot has an unfair advantage.

Lag shot should be the same for everyone.

And this is the rules and regulations comittee, not just me making it up


So i think this rule should be implemented

Indeedy, the ball cannot cross into opponents half of the table! and you cant hit side cushion, so basically its a foul, plus you have to hit the bottom cushion first.

3 Rule breaks with the fancy lag, that just isnt acceptable

I agree, this needs to be changed, if you step into opponents half or touch more than one cushion or ANY (even your own) side cushion it is a technical foul. This needs to change because i win all my lags now when im 2nd because i can do it.

While you're at it, also remove the double kiss rule, as the balls are allowed to double kiss and score a point.

I'm here, i agree with the lag being the 1 cushion, well not 1 cushion because you can also hit the one which you're trying to land close to.
