Noooooooooooooo way every time a world cup comes around the only thing you hear about is "we are the best team in the world, we won the world cup, even though it was in 1966"..

As for the "right to win the world cup" they do have the "right"
but not the divine right they seem to think they have because they won the world cup a very long time ago. They sound like they think because they (the English) invented the game, they have the right to win everything and others should just sit down..

In all honesty the English dont really speak about 66 as much as its played up/ It seriously is only used in the terms of Scots. Welsh and Irish going "England are crap haha England will never win" Bcoz They never make the finals so have no one to cheer. So We just say how many times have you won it?

Its like the Liverpool fans "we won the champs league 5 times how many have chelsea won it" then us chelsea fans say how many times you won the prem?

But Nicko is right in one way. England feel they should win it because they have good players. Good players dont make a team, real madrid have proven that as many others have. England dont perform as a team, they perform as individuals and individuals dont make you win. The main problem with england imo is that there is no squad depth. Players like Carragher, dawson, king are imo crap. So when Rio or terry is unavaiable we are exposed. also the keeper, hart suits perfect but looked through as number 1. England lack good wingers. Lennon and SWP are okay, but they arent good+. I think the expectation of England is the worst thing. I personally dontreally rate England as a team but as individuals its clear the players are world class. But the other teams perform as a team and dont have egos like the english players. there is rivalry within the english players but not the other teams. they are trying to prove individual ability, not the teams ability. Selfeish, greedy footballers = England.
