Well tbh, they lost 6-1 fair play, but you only need to look at the premiership for bad results.
Burnley beating Utd 1-0? Does that itself not equate to the equal measure of 6-1?
Bolivia are better than burnley and United are probs better than Argentina so its a double whammy.
Also, you arent taking note of argentina in the right manner i believe.
Like everything in sport and life etc, when you start slow, and scrape through qualifiers...you then find form and progress, saving the best for last <.
I dont like how England are completly written off, just like i dont like it when we beat Azerbaijan 1-0 at home then the papers the next day "ENGLAND 'WILL' WIN THE WORLD CUP" Its just stupid tbh.
You look at Englands team, its so good individually...and would be a very good team in the premiership but...it isnt a team for world cups. The style of play is completly different and the english players need to adjust in the right manner in order to achieve victory. the successful European countries, spain italy france, adopt a more...attacking style of play, italy, yes very solid in defense but they attack in numbers, as do spain. Xavi a holding midfielder is always in the box or the edge of it, only have to look at england players like hargreves or carrick, who never make it past the half way line.
If Lamps and G'ard have a player like rooney to feed, with 2 wingers with pace whipping the ball in...who can say england dont have a chance!

Its harsh to say Hargreaves doesnt get past the halfway line because yes he is a type of utility man but a defensive utility man, therefore its not his job to get past the halfway line.. his job is to protect the goal which he cant do past the halfway line..
Carrick fair enough hes not brilliant but he does get past the halfway line and when he does we usually get a goal..
Remember the 7-1 against Roma where carrick scored 2 belters?

Oh really...stats don't suggest that at all. We've had like 6 clean sheets in 24 games under Capello i think. Something like that.

Never said the defence held up well..
Just that ferdinand and terry two of the best center halfs there is and ashley cole is a class lb not as good as evra tho imo
and glen johnson is really good thats not a bad defense mate i think..
