There's only a couple of significant changes:
1) more space for the game (especially useful if limited monitor size)
2) adverts cause some people problems, either distractions, CPU usage or people plain dislike adverts

But you will also help support the site!

Personally I feel there should be more privileges with being a member. Perhaps a separate forum section, maybe a different colour username, or something a long those lines. I feel it would make buying membership a little more attractive and would probably get a lot more people buying it.

I would really like to buy membership but I'm slightly put off by the little amount of privileges given.

But the main reason that the majority of people purchase the membership is because they play the site a lot and therefore would want to keep it running. I myself purchased premium for FP because i play it a lot and want to support the site. The adverts and larger space are a minor thing, the main thing is your supporting the site. Something we organised over on FP however was a Premium vs Non Premium fixture, and also a Premium Members Cup. It's not something the site set up, was something we set up ourselves. You can make it more exclusive by doing things like that.

Adding special privileges will encourage even more members into buying membership. They don't have to be anything to over the top, simple additions like a different colour username (as the mods/admins do) and a private membership section will make premium membership look more attractive. I think premium members need a little more recognition. You should be able to tell them apart from ordinary members.

I'm aware that the main reason people buy membership is because they want to keep the site running, but you have to look at the bigger picture.. It is a way of business at the end of the day, and you should get as many sales as possible...

To many would just destroy the whole concept of a premium membership, maybe just coloured usernames, more forum posts in a day or something like that.
