Yes, but there was definitly a more polite way?

Conceded, but no one listens to a polite remark on the internet.

an option would be nice
but i doubt it will happen, even though you could have done it through edit profile

If you're playing for free you owe a thanks to Nick either way, he's allowing you to play a game he created, for free..
So he can change things if he sees fit.
If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.
nothing is for free
we the the consumers buy products that are advertized on sites like this
is that not how its all paid for ???????

And someone just pointed out the asymmetrical old cursor (which I use)
That's going to bug the hell out of my too.
This was a terrible idea. My dirty boiled sweet curling stones and my asymmetrical cursor are going to annoy the hell out of me.
Cheers nick. This was a rubbish change.

Wow you're thinking around a few corners here... you are certainly not paying directly for playing this game.
I think much of the criticism is over the top. No, the balls aren't perfect yet, but just like every other change on the site up to date it will be improved and perfected.
Gameplay has not changed as a result of the new balls. There have been several max breaks hit across all game types, so clearly they are pottable. How about we just get used to the balls and get on with it.
In the short time I have been here, there have been an impressive number of positive changes.
The amount of criticism on this site is outrageous.

Come to think of it, that was a little harsh.
But in my defence, boiled sweets are not an improvement. Especially since the light on a snooker table comes from directly above the balls.

The balls are different cos I am having trouble potting now on original lol.
They dont seem round cos now my cursor isnt round. I use the old cursor (outline) and its changed.

well, the ball at the table and the table itself is okay, but as I and some other people said above, the cursor look quiet distracting or asymetrical (old cursor)... Since I only use the old cursor in snooker its very important for me that something will be done there. What i dont like about the cursor is the huge size and the right side of the cursor is thicker than the left one (I see this especially in original).
The reason why I stood at the old cursor is that i know how much i need to overlap the aimed ball for it to go inside the pocket and without the cursor being symetric it will be quiet hard to aim at original.

I think you all take this too seriously!! What you do right, is you aim it at the pocket and it goes on!
SIMPLES!

Thanks for the feedback (and of very good level of constructiveness too!). I've not been ignoring this thread, I've been busy on killerpool and tried to give some time for people to adjust.
As pointed out earlier, the effect people are calling pixelated is a slight shine reflection and it deliberately doesn't move. It would be possible to add some rolling effect by adding some dirt/chalk on the ball. This would then have an effect like what is present on the carom balls where it's very clear the ball is rolling.
At larger resolutions the reflection effect should become more obvious, and at smaller resolutions it's not obvious there's much of a difference at all, but at certain resolutions in-between these it can look less detailed.
Regarding the asymmetrical outline cursor - this has been fixed for next patch.
