To be honest I don't like the new animation when potting a ball. Especially a long powerful pot does not give you the same satisfaction as it did with the previous graphics.

You are potting a ball, yet it feels like you didn't pot it.

Other than that, this is a great site and a great game, perhaps the best I have played in the Internet.

Touching ball, free ball rule, re-rack option and foul and a miss rule would be excellent additions.

Nick your the man mate,on any other websites the owners don't give a damn and hardly ever update or try improve their own websites,but you seem constantly trying to make game play better for us al,l and for that i applaud you mate

Well suppose there sometimes has to be a but.

This game has been great, nope, its been fantastic, but the recent changes I don't like at all. It started with the change in cushion colours, okay, was fine with that but then what seems to be the massive increase in contrast or colour or something made it look like a cartoon for me.

Next, this animated balls rolling around the pockets, whats wrong with the joyful thud of the balls hitting the back of the pockets.

I play most days but with these new changes, hmm, I might hang up my cue for a while, please make the older version from about 4 weeks ago the new version

ive had a couple of balls bouncing back out of the pocket

and also on some of my shots, they are looking like they are missing and my break building is struggling

Surely we can all adapt if the pockets are indeed tighter (which i haven't noticed). Now that you know the pocket is tighter, aim for the center of it.....
What's wrong with more of a challenge?
I wouldn't worry about all the moaning Nick, it happens on every update apparently.

I think there's 2 aspects to this.

A side effect of the change is the sound has been reduced (the sound occurs when the ball hits the back of the pocket rather than the edge as before), it's not making the loud sound so often. I will look into this.

Additionally we've got used to thinking a ball wobbling around has missed the pocket. I think g_echo_l mentioned this earlier in the chat. It is something we'll adjust to.

the old setting was alot better something needs to be done, the site is excellent but getting a bit too technical m8

What has gotten more technical?
All the recent changes have affected the way it looks and sounds. Nothing has made the game more complicated (if that's what you meant).

My thoughts - just had another game while I thought about my post earlier...
When you have near on perfection, which I think you had prior to these changes, why change it!

The balls just magically disappeared before, much to the surprise of every new user to the site! It was the most consistent negative comment about the game play. Give it some time for you to adjust.

We can't hold the game back just because of us getting used to some peculiarities in the game that were certainly not core to the play.



I don't think it's become technical at all, in fact surely it's more intuitive that the balls mirror real life?

yes but its nots real life it is only a game i dnt mean to be a problem but the old way was a lot better, and i am sure that alot of players would agree.

you just have to take time to get used to it

i hated glossy balls at first but after a week of playing i have got used to it so it doesn't bother me now

no mate, bounce outs is just an idea at the moment.

Yes thats the one thing that I dont like about the new update but as I said at the time we will get used to it.
Personally, I think the updates are great. Now it really feels like we are looking down on a table not just a 2D board.

In response to the people about tighter pockets, I actually thought they had gotten wider, some of my shots which i thought would definetely rattle and stay out indeed potted much to my dismay. Havnt experienced the "extra jaw" effect you were talking about though.

This update doesn't favor top players. It's just the way the balls look and drop...
If you were a new player and didn't know the way it was before, it would look perfectly fine to you.

There's absolutely no good reason that a ball magically disappearing is better than a ball rolling into the pocket (except that people have got used to it and refuse to adjust) but I would understand criticism that it should bounce / act differently.



No, same as before, a ball potted before will still be potted with the animation (though while it is there it could block a second ball going in).
