My apologies I actually meant to say not down ... I've corrected it now

EDIT Like buddytobud says its been reiterated many of times that there are problems with the server, so either deal with it or go and find something else to do until it's fixed, it's that simple.

The server wasn't down in the sense that no one could get on. But an unusually high amount of players suddenly got logged out at the same time. Certainly wasn't a coincidence. Was something between the funkysnooker website and a bunch of players.

But continuing your football comparison, if you miss the cup match that you having been looking forward too due to a traffic jam on the motorway, it is hardly the club's fault is it?

yes, but if about 7 players from each team get stuck in that traffic jam, the game gets cancelled

lol but seriously, if it's not the website/server/whatever it could be, Why did loads of people just suddenly get logged off at the same time?
And then afterwards, everything was fine again.
I don't think there's much or anything that Nick can do anyway, just saying it wasn't just us having terrible connections I think (I was watching a livestream at the same time that didn't get interrupted).

Just think a little about how the WWW works, and why its called that, it really does resemble a massive web of connections.
All it takes for a number of people to be logged off at once is for one strand of that web to break. If it happens to be a different route to that which you are streaming your video from, they of course the video will carry on fine.
Take the recent problems BT had in Scotland. Massive numbers of people were being cut off because of a major failure at one of the main exchanges in edinburgh.
This diagram is quite good, if over simplified.

Is it the server, is it my P.C., is it my settings...
Seeing as how this thread is up, can I ask is the following problem I have part of the server difficulties or is it my settings?
I am noticing quite often, I line up a shot, draw back on the mouse and shoot, but it seems like all the power has been taken out of the shot and the white just reaches the object ball or if its a gentle shot it doesn't reach.
It seems like the game jumps, this happens quite often. Thnaks in advance to anyone that knows the answer and can explain it to me

i had this last 2 days and thought it was just me.
i tried a smooth shot with mouse and a harder one and both barely reaching half power (this isn't a complaint by the way) but thought it was just me lol.

I seem to think the game jumps or stalls either when a new player logs in, or when a player leaves.
If you, well me, should just be making contact with the cue ball or if it hits the object ball be when this happens, you miss your shot or it falls short. Anybody know why that happens please?
Is it the game or is it my settings?

This is disappointing.

You have been logged out either your internet connection was down for too long or the server has been restarted. Please log in again
Connecting to the funky snooker game server (please wait)...
The above paragraph is what it said in the chat window, i had no problems my end as i was using other websites at the same time.

bit in bold means it was either your internet connection or the server but because your only one posting it might just be your connection.
did it say "connection failing 90/90" or something like that?

The point I was making is that people may have been having problems when you was online but you had no problems, this is clearly not the server.
^^ Pretty much what spinner has already stated.

no it didn't.
i've had that before so i always check that if i see theres a problem.
also, i was using other internet sites as well as games on facebook so obviously my internet connection was fine.
This is the first time i've ever been logged out like this.
